Bluemat Maxi or normal? or just an Autopot?

Hello I was thinking of buying a blumat system but I have 2 questions about them:
  1. Do I want to buy the normal blumat system or the maxi system? The maxi ones are longer for 10"+ deep pots but I don't actually see how they are better. They are also more money :|
  2. Is an autopot system easier to maintain? It seems you are suppose to clean the autopot every ~1-month and squish the red bumpers to keep them supple. I understand, bluemats on the other hand need a lot of tuning to get them set right at first and go crazy if they don't have the reservoir filled up nicely.
I'm basically looking for whatever will be the easiest system to upkeep and I don't have a drain in the room so I really don't want a leak :P

I've run autopots for 3 grows now and have never had a leak. i don't clean them during a grow. After a grow i give the gear a cleaning and go again. All i do is maintain the res and a little pruning, just the low stuff, let the air flow better. I am in coco and use to hand water daily that was a pita and if you had to be elsewhere you had a problem as coco does not like to dry out. I guess to sum it up I like the system. There is a learning curve with them but no more than any other system

You do not need maxi size carrots for indoors; regular size work just fine but you might need two per container depending upon how big the pots are. I use two per 7-10 gal smart pot. Idk wtf auto pot is btw...
