BML Spyder600 Review

I called BML today and they returned my call, but caught me at a bad time. I only had time to ask a few questions. I was going to pre order a 600 and I would love to have one, but after talking to him the light is 46x44. I have 4 growing rooms and all are 45x45 so it's a no go for me. Still thinking about ordering the old 1000.

Am I missing something? The 1200 isn't even that big20151213_000755.jpg

Is that the brand new 1200 your measuring cause I was told they are 44x44 if it is the new one how does it differ from the old 1200. Any info you can share is appreciated because I'm ready to pull the trigger on one. Thanks.
It's the spyder 1200. They told me they had new lights coming out at the end of the year (including an upgraded spyder 1200), but didn't mention the names of them. That was just a couple weeks ago and I didn't want to wait. If this one preforms well, I might buy one of the new ones when they come out.

Is that what you were talking about? The new light coming out will be those dimensions? If so, that's my mistake. Mine is just the spyder 1200

Yes I was talking about the new one. Maybe I misunderstood them though. I was really busy the day I talked to them.

I have 2 of the SpyderX on pre-order. (their Next Gen model), It hasn't been released yet. They changed their name to Fluence Bioengineering. They keep telling me December or January and I'm already paid in full. Here is a pic of one of the new ones.

Yeah I was worried the release date would keep getting pushed back on those. I thought fluence was more of a sister company? Hmmm if they change their company name, is my warranty still good? Seems weird
Those lights have a lot more white. Looks like 7 bars? Or maybe 8 with the one aimed away from the camera.

This is the email I received, this is all I know:

Good morning-
My name is Michael Lucchino. I am the new Retail Channel Manager at BML Horticulture. In the past, you may have contacted our Austin, Texas office for direct assistance. So that we can provide you with the best level of service moving forward, I am pleased to introduce myself as your direct contact at BML. I am available to assist with your account, orders, and answer any questions you may have pertaining to the BML family of products. In some cases, I may have already contacted you in this regard.
In addition to my role in supporting your business directly, there are many changes occurring at BML. We are introducing new products and re-branding the company as Fluence Bioengineering. We are making these changes to better reflect our scientific and research driven approach to engineering our lighting solutions. Because of these exciting changes, in the near future I will be sending out information regarding the new products, pricing, retail partner agreements, and other information regarding Fluence. I have attached some photos of our re-branding and our some of new offerings.
Warranty support and checking order status will still be addressed by emailing [email protected] or calling us at 512-524-7640.
On one final note, you will start to see email from me at [email protected], which will be my new email once we convert entirely to the new brand. I will continue to check the for a period of time to catch any overlap. I will updated through email correspondence as that transition is finalized.
I look forward to future interactions.

All the best,

Michael Lucchino | Retail Channel Manager

It does seem like a lot of white and little red... I heard the new lights were geared for mmj ( I was particularly wanting to get one for mmj flower only) I was told the new 1200 does not come in a grow max spectrum like the previous ones. With so little red leds , that may be a problem for me. What do good guys think. Input is appreciated.

I've seen the spectrum. It has plenty of red BTW. I know efficiency numbers as well. Definitely a nice unit.

Just received this email today:

Ladies and Gentlemen-

As of late yesterday, I have been given the cease and desist orders for our current generation product, SPYDR 1200, 1000, 600, etc. Orders on our current generation products are officially over. As many of you already knew and were aware, we are in the process of transforming our company in both the re-branding and new generation products. We feel these changes will not only enhance you and your customers but will continue to build strong relationships between Fluence and our retail brand ambassadors. We are excited about the interest in our new solutions as well as taking the step of moving things forward to the new generation of products. Many of you have been supporting us from the current generation and we are thrilled to continue our relationships.

Please be aware of the following information as it relates how we are moving forward:

  1. Those of you who have placed orders recently, or have orders in the queue of current generation products, understand that those orders will be fulfilled.
  2. Many of you have shown an interest in ordering 4 or so lights to test, with ordering significant more being conditional to performance. There will be no exceptions to ordering a few current generation products to test. Since we have always built to order, there will be no overages or warehousing of current generation models. For servicing purposes, we will have some parts to repair current generation malfunctions or failures. These will be handled on a case by case basis, either through myself, or our support team in Austin.
  3. Since we are processing and completing final orders of current generation products, we feel that we will speed up our efficiencies on the new generation as we will be only focused on one set of manufacturing. Currently, we are attempting to produce both which is producing challenges and hence our decision to eliminate this cost deficiency. We feel this focus will create a potential quicker delivery time of new generation products.
Furthermore, this decision under no circumstance that I have been made aware, is open for discussion. Ultimately, at some point in our transformation, this decision had to be made.

I realize that we also have some loose ends to complete in terms of pricing, retail partner agreements, and final specifications of our new generation products. I can tell you through the same discussion with ownership, we are committed to having these items resolved by year end as final costs, testing, and manufacturing details are completed.

In advance, I would like to thank you for you understanding. I have attempted to be forthright and transparent about the new generation of products and programs and will continue to deploy that approach to my customers and colleagues. We

All the best,

I've talked to Jerry over at BML a few times over the past couple months. I will deffinetly inquire about this. Might be exactly what I'm looking for. All ready can tell by the size & how BML thinks & works. I read all there literature & it was very insightful & prepared mr for my journey through LED BS to research lights for months. BML is the shit. Just didn't 100% agree on the grow or start max spectrums. I'll stay posted. Peace! BTW, Victor at AMARE will tell you anything you want to know. Just ask. It's all verified too. No BS!

5 suns , what price did you get a new one for pre order? Also roll your on you say they are cutting prices on old models? I would really love to have one of these. Would love a discount though any info would be most helpful. Thanks

I paid $900 each and ordered 2. They offered me the 1200 for $1500, but they told me that the 1200 was geared more towards commercial growers with co2 and humidifiers/dehumidifiers. If the light didn't perform well for me, I didn't want someone telling me it was because I didn't have co2.

You can't buy the older models any longer. The email above discusses thst at length with the cease and desist. They offered me the same pricing on the old gen if I wanted the lights delivered now. But I opted for the SpyderX.

Yes 400.00 off the price of the Spyder 1000, but that was a couple of weeks ago. 5suns said they are know longer taking orders on the old model. He seems to be in the know.
