Bone marrow biopsy.

I have go in later today for one. Had a routine physical Thursday. Doctor's office called Sat. My white blood cell and platelet counts were both very high. The nurse, bless her heart, called a hematologist/oncologist that she knows. She told me to tell his office that he personally requested I be seen in his office today. I couldn't find any definitive information online about what might cause both of these things at the same time.

All they did today was draw blood and ask a lot of questions. The biopsy will be done on Wednesday. Then it takes about 1 week for the results. I feel okay actually. A bit tired but being a chronic I expect that. :D

So I had the biopsy done this morning. It wasn't real painful but it felt weird. They had me come in a 9 and the biopsy wasn't done until almost 10:30. It only took 5-10 minutes tops including numbing the area around the incision. I have to go back in a week for the results of the biospsy and results of the bloodwork they did on Monday.

Thanks for your support. I did find a chronic condition that causes both high white blood cell and platelet count. It's treatable and usually not life threatening. Of course I'm just speculating at this point.

I found out today I have Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. It's treatable with drugs, no chemo. But since it's chronic I have to take the drugs from here on out. They want me to take Tasigna. It's expensive, I'm waiting to find out how much my insurance will cover.

ok woods, sounds like that's not exactly the news we were all hoping for. i will defer to the adage, in life there is nothing that is presented that we cannot handle. and man I hope that medicine keeps levels where you need them to be. Let us know how the insurance works... keep on trucking bro

Ohh man, sorry to hear this woods. Not what you were hoping for I'm sure.

Are you considering RSO as part of your treatment?

If so, don't be afraid to ask for help. I am making a batch of RSO in the next couple days for a patient. Just sourced a couple gallons of 99% iso and will have this done by Sunday at the latest. If you need help in making it I can chip in with what little advice I may have, but I would defer to Grow Goddess for the most part. She seems to really have this down to a science. As far as "ingredients" for RSO goes, I (and I'm sure others) can help you out if/when you're ready.

Best of luck to you.

Stowe- your PM box is full. I was asking about making the RSO with Ethanol. Anyone do that? Seems healthier... I have a bottle of 99% Ethanol and was going to give the RSO a run.
