Here's my flowering tent couple weeks into 12/12. 4 X Bodhi's soulmate and 2 X Holy Smokes strawberry diesel. (plus some other small freebie plants in the front)
I'm happy with how full it is, will be implementing a scrog for my next grow (blue dream cbd & S.A.D CBD)

I have added a Vipar ufo (100w actual) in the middle of my frame, just until I can buy some more of these strips.
Did you end up getting more strips for the middle? Did you happen to record or know what you got as far as g/w? Any adjustments made since?

which of these would you guys pick? been looking at different strips and the migranes and head injuries just cant wrap my head around stuff like i used to. looking for something reasonably easy to keep cooled, what size area would these effectively flower? may add in other things later but just need something to flower plants for now. thank you

I'd go with the 5x 23W TCI. They are more efficient (154lm/w vs 141lm/wt) and people have been having good results with them.

People have been shooting for around 5-7k lm/ft2 when using these, so figure out what your square footage is and multiply that by the amount of lm/ft2 that you want to use, (somewhere between 5,000 and 7,000lm/ft2 is good for no CO2, but the more light the better) and then divide that by 3,542lm (23watts x 154 lm/watt = 3,542 total lumens per strip) to figure out how many strips you'd need.

Ex.
Let's say your trying to flower a 2' deep x4' long tent.

Total ft2 = 2ft deep times 4ft long
... Which is 8ft2

Let's say you're shooting for 6,000 lm/ft2.

So then we'd multiply 8ft2 x 6,000 lm per square ft.

8ft2 x 6,000lm/ft2 = 48,000 total lm needed to flower your tent.

Then we'd have to divide the total lumens needed to flower your 2' x 4' tent by the amount of total lumens emitted per strip, so that you'd know how many strips to use and buy.

48,000 lm ÷ 3,542lm/strip = 13.55 strips

Lets say you're shooting for 5,000 lm/ft2, then that would be..
8 x 5000 ÷ 3,542 = 11.29 strips..

Lets try 7000 lm/ft2..
8 x 7000 ÷ 3,542 = 15.81 strips..

Lets try 8000 lm/ft2..
8 x 8000 ÷ 3542 = 18.06 strips..

Because you can't buy half a strip and because they are sold in quantities of 5, you'd have to purchase 3 sets of these strips (15 total strips) but would only use 13 or 14 of them to flower the 2' x 4' tent at 6000lm/ft2. Using lumens to calculate quantity of light needed is a ball park figure and you'll ultimately have to adjust the height of your fixture with whatever your plants like.

You'll also need something to mount them on, the sex pistils used a baking sheet that was pretty legit and cheap. Page 13 on this thread.

the 2x4 works well as id rather have multiple fixure in a flower tent as im usally not running all same genetics and will also have them at different stages in there so I planned on having it split into 2-3 2x3 sections lol
pretty sure im going to end up going w a 4x8 maybe 10 but for now will prob just get the veg tent to flower in 4x4 or 3x3 as have lil to no budget for thais anymore disability now and vs paycheck its less then a quarter of the pay ............ = Lots harder to invest in stuff like this. so its bit by bit and may throw other lighting in the mix but thats down the road. for now a 5 pack of these will doit for the starters i have going to flower. think they have anohter or couple sets listed think these where decent ones at a quick glance. thought of those sol strips or samsung/ bridgelux but this package is great!!

Anybody out there still using these? I'm about to finish off a 34"x60" panel with 39 strips total. Was aiming for 150,000 lumens but oh well lol.

Will have around 1300 watts in the room. May have to dial back my 400W cob light a bit.

I use these strips,I have found 6" centers to be good spacing.I use 3k and 4k every other strip.
Seems a bit far apart. What are your ppf #'s. I think 6" centers probably great for veg though.

I may have to rethink my wiring. Dealing with heat issues so I may pull the drivers off the fixture and move them outside the room.

@nmibud 6" centers spacing adds up to about 400W per m2. That's plenty for flowering.
On the lower end but ok. I switched off every other strip, 5" centers and was seeing par levels around 500 at 10". With every strip on I'm seeing 1100 to 1300 even at 12" down to 800 at the edges without any reflective walls.

Lower end? No it's not. That's perfectly normal. If not high. That would be well over the standard 800uml/s per m2.

If the strips are 5" spaced, your height can be as low as 2.5". That's perhaps annoyingly close to the plants, but 10" is waaaay to high.

If you don't have reflective walls and hang the lights too high you lose a lot of light.
