Botrytis (aka Bud Rot) - Discussion over causation

I'm beginning to think more and more that one of the biggest threats to having botrytis(besides genetics) is overwatering and overfertilizing. Time and time again I watch commercial farms struggle with botrytis and they are constantly trying to overwater and overfeed. Then I watch my regenerative homies who barely water at all and maybe feed 4 times the entire growing season, and all those plants are always so healthy with little to zero budrot. Clearly I am oversimplifying, but there's something ocurring....

It depends if you're talking about indoor or outdoor grows. Indoor the biggest factor is generally airflow and humidity. Outdoor you have those same variables, and the addition of morning dew, plus caterpillars. Many growers don't realize that a few caterpillar droppings can trigger the beginning of botrytis.

All valid considerations. Yeah with outdoor production there are so many more variables to consider…
