Boycott hydro in California

if you deport illegal aliens back to w/e, sure, it might help reduce water use in wherever they were at before deportation, but it's not like just because you sent some people back to say mexico, those people will no longer need or use water..
or do you just say eff it, let mexico worry about that?? doesn't seem like a very friendly way of solving a water crisis imvho..

Yes, but their standard of living is generaly much higher hear than where they came from, Most illegal imigrants come from either the very rural farm/homesteads or the ghetos.

Mexico and south -pretaining to illegal immigrants
Bathing is usualy done in rain water or the river/lake
Irrigation is usually from rivers

US
bathing - domestic water
Irrigation - wells / river / rain / domestic
Lawn -(mandated in many places) domestic
Car/truck wash- domestic
toilet - domestic

Ok this lends credence to my minimalist hydroponics grows........ My goal was to see how nice of a grow a person could get using the least amount.......

in dwc in many cases the majority of the water is used by the plants. A 2 gallon waterfarm can keep a large size plant going on a gallon of water for a day or two... Run plants separately, instead of running large systems.

i have an idea for saving water in california: stop growing the most water intensive crop known to man, dumbasses.

We just need some people to build pyramids in cali so we can sacrifice some goats on top of them. It worked for the mayans back in the day. I think we should give it a try. The blood soaking into the land would add some moisture one way or another. ;)
101.jpgim down were do we begin the center is the dial of the Aztec calinder the the six pee's is another story.

Nope... Folks were growing in these things straight.. Back in the 90's.. Maybe folks stopped growing them because they didn't have them dialed in right.

Check out plantgel.com....

PlantGel- is a 100% Non-Toxic, biodegradable, and odorless super absorbent crystal, that absorbs up to 400 times its weight in water, and has a life span of approximately 5 to 7 years.

is simply mixed with water to produce a clear gel that may be used in place of soil for potting plants. You may also add color to the gel to create decorative displays with your house plants!

time releases vitamins & minerals directly to the plant's root system, which will increase the life span of your plants, making them healthier and more vibrant!

is an excellent medium for plants due to its water absorbing ability. This also means that you only have to water your plants every 4-6 weeks!!! Plant Gel can be used alone or with soil.

allows over 90% of the water and plant food to be directly available to the plant's root system. No other component used in growing mixes allows this much absorption by plants. For example, clay soils retain a great amount of water, but less than 50% of the water is released to the root systems. In addition, Plant Gel, being a gelatin, allows for excellent aeration.

is also great to use for burning candles. Don't spend lots on those huge candles! Use Plant Gel and you only need votives! No dripping wax either! See the Products Section for more details.

they use this stuff for cloning as well.

Ever try it thow

Most of what I tryed to grow died (root rot ?) , while the same plants in standard dirt grew just fine ,

And that stuff is not cheap

I tried it once.... I was 20, and at that stage where I was trying to grow in a tin foil box under the kitchen light.. If I got serious and experimented with it... Ph'd it and see what can happen...

it might be good good to use in hydro grows to extend the time period that the pumps are off using less water...

or throw some into a soil transplant so that you get your plants to make it through the drought for a couple weeks... Seems there should be some usefulness to them

Likely very usefull in a dessert but not NY , The stuff was always like mud

Cloning with it sounds good thow , I think I will try that this year ( I have a ass load of figs , and I want to try some root stock)

The most efficient use of water and nutes in a hydro system is ionized aeroponic mister systems.
They are expensive to set up and have problems. But use the least amount of water and nutes any system an develop.
Ive got a news flash for you Californians. If you throw all the left wing wacky doodles out of your state house maybe..just maybe you could build another water holding res or two.
A few years ago cali had record rain fall. But no way to contain or store it..so now they have a bit of a drought going on and now they are complaining about water.
The objection to the res it would wipe out endangered species habitat.
Another problem you have in cali is you wont build any more power plants.SO you purchase your power from AZ..and TX..then complain because power is to high.
The problem with continued reliance on AZ.TX, NV for your power and water is a wacky doo president is closing up huge amounts of these power generating plants.
So now because cali doesnt generate its own power or supply its own water they will have to rely on sources that are depleting to continue to supply.
Costs even going high because of the lack of supply.
I can see eventually the other states around you cutting off your water and power.
For good reason..as the particular states and there tax payers that own the power and water will need it to supply themselfs soon and will not be able to supply cali.
I grew up as a kid in Oregon and although i like allot of people from cali and have family that live there..Mant people from cali really are a plague on the rest of the country.
Its just so many of you are so damn dumb they are completely clueless and do not live in the same world as the rest of us who live in reality.
They do not want res build because you do not want to hurt the natural habitat of the snail darter or the spot owl.But they want the water.
They do not want a power plant because it will pollute the air..but they want the power.
Completely psycho.

Sorry I left.my hose on with no nozzle after washing 6 cars, 4 trucks, 5 boats, my hose ran all day long and night. I have used probably about 10000 gallons of water but it was an accident but hey I cut the water off when I had to pee so I was not wasteful. :) I am saving Cali. I give myself a pat on the back. Oh yeah I filled my pool with the hose in the back yard as well ill think next time and shoot forn9800 gallns instead of 10000.

this thread kinda reminds me of when I was in Arizona and some doctor in his gas guzzling smog emitting Benz rides up to a group of nurses smoking outside and scolds them about smoking on the premises....

or those PETA types that wear leather shoes and throw paint on furs

look if you move to a desert region then water shortages are to be expected, we got plenty of water back here in the snow/rust belt were everyone if moving FROM) he he he
