Brand New Grow Room

I am seeking the help and advice of all you beautiful human beings here on this forum! I've been frequenting these forums for some time now and it's unbelievable how much one can learn.

Anyways, I need some input on a grow room i'm setting. The room is 12x12 ft and we want to yield 3-4 pounds, but favor quality over quantity. Is it ideal to have 2-3 small 4x4/5x5 tents in the room or one 8x8. We are leaning towards the 8x8 because less wires and equipment that needs to be installed.

Let's call this sketch the 8x8, each arrow represents an LED light and the center will be entirely empty for us to walk and manage the plants to the left and right. Is this an efficient grow? We are thinking 10-12 plants with a trellis on each side, not to overcrowded. How many watts should each LED be? We were thinking 6 ES300 to fill up the 8x8. Any advice to create an optimal grow will be greatly appreciated. We will be doing an organic soil grow in 3 or 5 gallon pots, haven't decided yet.

Planning, a good thing. :leaf:
That's a nice size to work with.
General list off the top...

Environmental control - heat/cool/humidity, etc..
Sealed room (Co2 capable) or Vented. Mini-split?
Medium - soil/coco/blumats/hydro,etc
Nutrients - type, how often, what strength
Fertigation method - hand, automated

Don't buy Lighting until the very last minute. - do your homework!

No tents if possible, use the room. Plan for drains - trays and dehuey. I would put in a tent for veg. Everyone needs a veg tent!

:peace:

What climate are you in? This room, where is it located?(basement, spare room, ect) Will you have access to plumbing/drains? Is this a location you own, or rent? How tall is the room?

Is this for production or personal use?

There is quite a bit of info that could help us give you a more guided approach.

And have you any previous grow experience?

I own the house (2 story house) and the spare room is on the 2nd story. The room is about 8.5ft tall. Temperatures stay in the in the 70s throughout the day and drop to 45-50 degrees at night. I would prefer to grow within the confines of a tent to keep things more isolated, but im open to using the entire room. I plan on growing in soil, organic amendments, hand watering whenever necessary hence the design of the grow so I have better access to all the plants. Currently looking at the AC Infinity T6 with a carbon scrubber and exhausting either into the attic or back into the house, would like some feedback there. Plan on letting in venting fresh air into the room via window or from another room. This is for personal use for a friend and I, just tired of dealing with some of the stuff you find at dispensaries not knowing what went into the grow process.

My main advice would be to make sure you don't underestimate how big your plants will grow, give yourself enough work space to move around comfortably.

I built a 7x14 room with tableS that were 3x4 thinking it left me lots of space, once you start adding equipment and the plants get big the space quickly gets smaller and smaller.

Best of luck. I look forward to seeing the end result

Absolutely, hence why I prefer the 8x8 not packed to the brim with plants.

@Renfro not sure if you want to chime in here.

Tomorrow I'll try to get what I would try to do with that budget/dimensions. But I really couldn't imagine not running a veg space/tent. Not only for convenience of breaking up harvests but preservation of banging Phenos.

Do something like a 4x8 tent for veg on one side of the room, plus some space for a reservoir and stuff. The other side of the room you just setup for flowering. Using 12' x 4' you could run 3 x 1000 watt HPS or LED equivalent and pull 6+ pounds a run if you do well. After harvest your veg tent has plants ready to flower another round.

Let's say there would be no need for a veg room, just 1 tent capable of producing 4-5 pounds of solid quality per harvest? What would you recommend in terms of lights, positioning plants, how many plants? I plan on using a trellis as I stated and want easy access to all plants.
