Breaking my cherry from Ireland

First grow-room and first post after happily trolling and educating myself to becoming self-sufficiant. Love the vibe and community of this forum and decided to put my roots down here...heh,heh. My new house has a lean-to ,sturdy shed attached and I've spent the last while insulating ,squaring off, and wiring the inside for my future grows. The space at my disposal is a decent 13.5'x 11.5' floor space with 8' high ceiling. All my insulation on walls and floor is 4" yellow fibreglass; the ceiling has 6" of the same. I,ve 3 x 600w hps lights, a 6" extractor capable of shifting 535 cubic metres of air an hour, two rotating fans and four circular 3" passive intakes in the floor diagonally opposite where i plan to hang my extractor. Is this shit well thought out or should I partition off a smaller area to work with? I,ve never grown before but as both my wife and I have atomic weed habits and what with the price of good weed in Ireland being enough to close yer arse-hole I thought to give it a run. My pretty better half thinks I may have over done it insulation-wise, with only two (yes TWO) police choppers in use for the whole of Ireland and with our economy in the crapper, but I like to be careful. I'll post some pics next with the progression of my project when I get all my tools and left-over shit out of the area. Untill then I would really appreciate some sage advice from my knowledgeable brothers in green.
I'll leave you with , smile and the world smiles with you....Fart and you smile alone:-P

your grow room sounds awsome!! the only things id see you need are a dehumidifier, and maybe a small a/c.like a 9,000-12,000 btu.
just for excitment sake what strain do you want to grow, and what are you going to put them in?

Thanks for the quick responce Mongo, I've some blueberry cuttings thinkin about developing roots and then it's into soil for them for this learning grow. I may go hydro later on but one thing at atime cos my knowledge is all theory and even that is green. I will most likely fek up many times but that is part of the learning curve and I intend to ride that bitch like an A.D.D. child on a sugar-rush. I don't mind mistakes or failure as long as I learn something along the way...:-P

OK roloman, are you just growing for you and your wife? If so, I agree with her that this is a little overkill. I don't live there but, have been there enough to know that Irish electric consumption is not that high. My family there turns the water heater off at certain time of the day and I have never been in an Irish house with air con. Will burning those 3 600W lamps 18 hours a day make the ESB take a look? I don't know but, I do know that you don't want the Garda up at the house. I would start with just one of the 600's and think about a section to use T5 tubes for the 18/6 and only use the 600 for 12/12. Less euro to the ESB as well. Good luck with whatever you land on.

Hey Ow., cheers for the advice. My wife and I would happily decimate the guts of an ounce and a half a week but I'd like to grow a lot more as our smokin' buddies rely on the shitty gritty that unfortunately is more regular here than quality weed. Affordable pricing would cover our overheads and sort out our friends at the same time. The ESB is on the brink of being privatised and profit driven and if I read correctly only alerted by large electricity spikes such as hugh commercial grows or whole house factories. However one can never be too careful I guess. The guarda at my door would definately be a bummer. I suppose the excitement of my first grow could make me rash. Keep checkin back though as I,m sure your future advice will be invaluable. Do you have Irish in your family or is that green in your blood from the bud..heh,heh:-P

I wouldn't be too worried about the electricity being used. 1800 watts is just a little over a small space heater's worth of eletricity... nothing anyone will notice.... on that same hint, the only time electric companies get involved is when there is a theft of electricity, like when folks splice into the lines and shit. I would also suggest some sort of muffler for the sound your extractor is going to be making, just as to not raise suspicion. It does sound like a very ambitious first go of it, but have at it. I like to start new things small, and build up from there but i say whatever, go for it!
