The Dog: Headband (OG Kush X ECSD) X OG Kush.

It's a 9.5-10 week strain, 75% Indica and 25% sativa.

I wasn't planning on doing a journal this crop but I've had some requests for info on this so I thought I'd do a condensed version with only pictures after this first post. I bought these seeds about 2 months ago, after reading about a 50% discount being offered here on RIU. I tend to grow feminized seeds, and bought this strain because this is the only feminized strain they offer. I started 12 seeds, 6 plants on each side of the room under 2 600 watts HP bulbs. I vegged for 28 days and flipped the lights to 12/12 on/off. The male bananas started on day 3. In the breeders description they mention this and it didn't seem like a major problem. It was! 3 plants turned out to be 100% male, and it was impossible to keep up with the male pollen sacks being produced. They showed very early and were killed off. Another 6 plants were putting off bananas but I would go in the room and study each plant picking off the pods daily for the 1st 2 weeks. It was a pain in the ass but I followed thru religiously and after 2 weeks, the male pods stopped. 3 plants showed no male tendencies at all. So the taller pheno's (kush like) all showed bananas and the shorter pheno, leaning towards the ECSD, were the 3 with no bananas. I forgot to mention- the strain only shows 2 phenos- one tall (75% of the plants) and one short (25%). Also, because the description mentions they can get tall, I pinched each plant at week 2 to increase bushiness and reduce overall height.

It's an easy strain to grow and they are very healthy. Today is day 19 in flowering. They are quite stinky, and the scrubber is running 24/7. The breeder, DST, is posting in the "600 club" thread and has responded to my questions. The keepers in this strain are the plants that show no male pods............ I'll post weekly updates. I just placed another B.B. seed order to try some new things down the road and I like their prices, quality, quick shipping, honest plant descriptions, easy access to the breeders, fast customer responses and a nice strain selection.

First 2 pics are thru color correcting sunglasses and show each side of the room. The 3rd pic is under regular light and shown at floor level (as opposed to the others which were taken from above).

@SSHZ if it helps mate from what i can gather from everyone else thats grown the dog if you take cuttings from the original plants and grow the cuttings out then the nanners virtually disappear

Well, I've been thru the plants thoroughly and the bananas stopped around the end of the 2nd week. The trick was finding them and pulling the males. My plan is to find the best plant out of the lot and "mother" her. It's all good now......except for the stink. LOL

I'm growing Dog right now too, and it stinks to high heaven. I have never used a carbon filter before, but could really use it on this grow. Also, everyone else I know growing this strain takes it 9-10 weeks, but I pulled a batch at 7 weeks and it was still amazing. Good luck with things. :)

Since I had the camera out, I thought I'd take a few pic's of my other room: Sweet Seeds "Green Poison"...... you can notice how much further along this room is as opposed to the Dog. Everything was started at the exact same time. By the way, that"s 25 plants under 2200+ watts in 5 gallon pots......

Ron.....just wait. This is a strain I've been doing for a few years now. Consistantly wonderful, early flowering, fruity and berry goodness. Here's an old pic with a resin smudge after the camera got too close to the bud:

NICE looks like it has a beautifully fruity smell i know its not smellovision but i swear i think i smell it thru my monitor LOL if thats the old strain and it wasnt a prob with the smell i cant wait to see the dog

Hey what are the physical dimensions of this grow space? Do you like the cram as much as possible in a small space approach?
