Breeding for beginners

So I really wanna start crossing my own strains. I just bought so OG raskal gear and I wanna pic a male and breed it with some sky walker kush and kandy kush. Will I have issues chunking pollen like this? Should I even bother ? What could go wrong?

Sounds like a fun project. I have never bred, but am working my way there. I would just make sure that to the best of your knowledge the lineage of the strains are not to close as you may back cross some to stabilize the strain. (don't want to get to inbred?) Other than that I don't see it being any diff from growing. You will spend more time on it as it may require multiple grows to get to what you are really looking for in a pheno.

From what i've been reading, its all about selection over time. Just keep breeding, and selecting the best to breed with and you'll get yourself a killer plant. Once you have what you like, learn how to stabilize it. Check this out, free books from google play:

I have to admit the breeding bug has me hooked also. I haven't done anywhere near the reading I probably should be doing, ive been collecting pollen from the following male's kosher kush, pe pe le dank, and dog from breeders boutique. Just recently bought some royal queen seeds moby dick, that I have yet to pop because the freebies that came with the moby were soo sweet I opened them first! I popped all of these at once along with the remainder of my gage green pe pe ledank and they are flourishing, I will be trying to select a phenotype from one or a couple to pollenate in an attempt to see what I can produce.

Continued inbreeding either of full sibling crosses or backcrosses to the parent of the desired phenotype.

It depends on what you want. If you want a true inbreed line, the. It's like mreduck says above, you need to look I to mendals laws, they will show you how. I haven't got that fat.

The other way is to clone the plant you like, hit the clone with colloidal silver and use the produced pollen to pollinate the mom. In theory the sends, if fertile, would be the exact same plant, as. Tw chromosomes donated are exactly the same.

S1s are not clones from seed. All of the genes are there but they get randomized, hence the need to backcross the most similar to get a decent approximation from seed.

Right right right, there are how many combos at that point? 2 to the 10th?

Ya I think my head hurts to !!! But I think I'll endure the pain ....... forgive me for jumping into your tread but this is very interesting stuff. Bin following and want to learn some basic's on making my own good quality fem seeds. I started treating a couple plans with SC to give it a try. Not to get off topic but I gave grown some killer weed from seed bank seeds. So from what I am reading if I SC a plant and get the pollen to treat a female those seeds when grown may not be as potent as the mother ? could play down what has bin bread up in the stain? ? ........... if I used say a WW plant for pollen and treated other stains ? I just want to make my own good quality seeds to get good quality bud Is what I'm trying to do again sorry for crashing your tread

Call me a pollen chucker, but here is my project. It may not give true F1's but I did it just for fun and to see what happens. The seeds will be Cotton Candy Kush(mom) x Goji Og(dad). I was also making some fem seeds to save genetics but I don't know how much your really saving a "pheno", so I stopped. Giving you a seed similar to a F2 it seems it would just offer another pheno hunt. Check out my Cck x Goji seeds!
