Breeding Journal (Moonshine Haze, Agent Orange)

Start.jpgI have started 3 Moonshine Haze, and 3 Agent Orange seeds. This photo is from mid-March. Started via papertowel/freezer bag with heating mat. Placed into rockwool 12 hours before photo and set under household cfl lighting.

My intention is to cross the 2 lines in an attempt to create versions of each that are closer to a balance of the two but that are still clearly distinct strains.

Ok well... I carelessly gave the agent orange plants water that was not adjusted for PH. Was 36 - 48 hrs before I noticed and of course the damage was done. The moonshine haze were not thirsty so they dodged a bullet. Can't say enough how stupid I feel for the mistake, so will post pic updates in a couple days when the agent orange don't look quite so sad, also will have pictures of the moonshine haze. Also wanted to post some of the details for those who are interested in them. The plants were moved from the 2in. pots they started in to 1gal fabric pots. I planted in royal gold basement mix with about 5% added perlite. Plants have been given RO water since transplanting and kept under a 1000wt HPS at temps between 65F and 78F.

Beautiful babies! And those are some great strains you're working with! Can't wait to see the outcome.

Thanks! Stoked to just see these strains before crossing myself! I decided to take on this project on after I lost a haze cross that finished as soon as 8 weeks, I'm hoping that I can get something similar from this little exercise...

Sorry for the lack of progress updates, but the day after my last update the landlord called and said he has to move back into the property and when this year's lease is up on May 31st, he will not be able to rent the place again! I have been scrambling to deal with this little hurdle ever since. I believe I have finally have ensured a fairly smooth transition for the project, and will try to post picture updates in the next day or so.

Here are recent pictures of the 6 seedlings.AgtOrng1.jpgAO1.jpgAO3.jpgMnHz1.jpgMnHz2.jpgMnHz3.jpg

They are recovering from my careless slip-up as you can see. All six seem to have shown sex, with 2 Agent Orange and 1 Moonshine Haze showing suspected male sex organs. Will keep an eye on them the next few days to be 100% certain.

I was hoping to be able to combine those two, but I'm all but certain that AO#1 is male and MH#2 will prove to be as well. I'm not as certain about MH#2 being male, but strongly suspect it. This is a better pic of MH#1 that is confirmed female.MH1.jpg

if AO1 & MH2 are males....Id keep both...
make F1's & test for potency...

MH2 is a female...Id cross her to AO1

That's my plan, I'm actually glad to see so many males! I have cut clones from all six plants and will be moving the males to a second location in the next few days. Second location is where I will induce bloom stage and collect pollen from each on individually. Details on the equipment and specs of second location to come soon. Since I live in Denver, Co. and it's legal to do so, I am going to give away clones of all six plants to anyone who wants them. Not sure how many takers I'll get on this but I'm making the offer anyways. Plants will be rooted and planted in 2" pots with Royal Gold brand Basement Mix unless otherwise requested. No strings attached on this, but if you felt like giving me updates I love to get them.

First 2 pics are of Agent Orange #3, the only AO female. Next come AO#2 a male (I think ur right bout this guy being a killer stud GODWORK) and of course AO#1 (also male) who looks much more like what I'm after from the AO parent then I think he did to start. Moonshine Haze updates coming soon...

Doobey...
if your AO#2 male is slower than your AO#1...(looks like he is)
the actual chances of him being a keeper are increased...

All to often we look at really fast growing males & think they are the keepers...
peel your eyes for the slow schmoe dude...
watch his structure...check his trich. count...

If he looks good...the next step is to clone him...collect his pollen..
then try to fuck him up...in every way possible...nute burn...under water..over water...high RH%,,,everything...
if he can take it...

Its time to check his F1 potency...if he is making BAD ASS Keeper bitches...
he may be The ONE...

Yeah I really like the structure on that AO#2, been watching it since you pointed it out as one you liked GODWORK. He just seems uhh 'stocky' you know? Def didn't know that slower growth may indicate desirable traits in the male, but as I think I mentioned in the start of the thread, it's the first time I've selected the male side of the seed parents. I'm looking forward to putting the pollen from AO2 as well as the others on the ladies. I cloned the plants about 4 days ago, put them in my aero cloner and have been watching their reactions. I let the PH in the cloner drift a little high (maybe up near 7.5 - 8.0) half way on purpose, half way because my daughter (12 months old) needed a little extra attention and I couldn't steal away to check and adjust the water. The two plants that seem to do best were AO#2 and MH#1, with AO#3 and MH#3 taking the PH swing the hardest. After they get roots I intend to put them in coco and track how long before they get mad at me for not getting nutrients. Cloning into rockwool plugs next and I think I might give those ones some drought stress (maybe even combine it with a little heat). I'm looking for a fast finisher in the AO parent so def gonna be watching for that too.
