If it were me, I try to at least isolate the slimy bud, or stem or whatever your talking about. Kinda hard to tell without pics. Sounds really awful to tell you the truth.

you should be careful, if it's some kind of mold or something you could kill yourself smoking it. if you're in a humid part of the world maybe it's the result of some kind of bacteria.

did you flush out your nutes 2 weeks before you cropped out? nothing but RO water right?

i tried googling a little, i searched 'brown ooze coming out of bud/weed' and 99% of the results are 'whats this dark brown ooze coming out of my vagina?' so looks like you'll have to sift through some dirty vag to get to the answer on this one, unless someone more knowledgeable comes along.

i searched through the book 'insect, disease and weed' for the word ooze and anything involving a brown or yellow ooze is a disease of some sort.

again this may just be pure DANK dripping from your bud and there's nothing wrong, but make sure you know EXACTLY what it is before you decide what to do with it. you don't want to be the first person in history to die from smoking weed.

Many, many years ago, I was pruning an outdoor crop...can't remember what strain it was, I didn't know much about strains back in the day. I clearly remember one of the plants "bleed" when we pinched it, and it was blood red, very dark and slow, would cause a "bead" at the end of the cutting. If it were dark enough, or dryer, it could have looked brown easy.
I was told at the time that the roots were still pumping and that the "wound" would heal faster since the plant bleed, also it was typical of the strain...but like I said, I can't tell you what that strain was..

Now, that was a live plant, the roots were still alive anyway. I am still here today. I realize that there is a lot more mystery involved with a drying stem "bleeding" but just thought I would share that memory since you stirred it up.

Were the stems reddish on the plant? Did you let the plant go without water for a couple days before chopping? I remember the plant I am talking about having a lot of red/purple stems.
