  • Hi, leaves have gone brown and are wilting, any advice on what i can do?
Its outdoors, mainly in the shade as i live in the tropics and is pretty much natural with only a little potash thrown in when it started to bud.
The days are getting longer and we are in the wet season.
Im new to posting threads, this took ages to workout.

OK thats one of a few issues and in a later stage so prognosis will be slow. check your PH asap, possible nute burn and most def CAL MAG Deficiency

Right! Whats the best way to check PH?, Whats nute burn? And what the hell is CAL MAG deficiency?
I was hoping someone would be able to offer a "quick fix". Should i just google the stuff you've mentioned?

First thing to do, is give us details of what/ how/ when you feed if anything, what the PH is, temps, all the shit.
If you want good answers, you need to give good info for answers to be based upon.

If you want to help your plant then don't look for a fix look for a problem.

What do you feed the plants? in what quantaties, and how often.
average condition of the soil wet/dry?

personally I am an indoor grower so i couldn't be sure but if your airflow and lighting is done for you and preformes well in nature it is very likely that you are doing or allowing something to harm your plants.

That looks over fertilized with a PH problem to me.

At your next watering just keep the hose running for a while. Dont let it disturb the soil but just water the hell out of it to flush out minerals. See if it stabilizes

I'm having this same issue... I improved the PH but I don't know did it really help. At least in my case, this effect luckily only concerns leaves, not buds. I'm just days from harvest so no point trying to solve it anymore :)

@ RyanTheRhino.
After a fair bit of research today, your advice is right on the money! Thankyou.
I threw a handful of potash on the dirt about a week ago and as you have wisely noticed....
I have removed what remained of the potash granules and flushed. My research on the issue suggests i should PH test the run off and adjust accordingly.
Should i trim the dead and dying leaves? Will that help with the recovery?
Details:
Temperature range at the mo. is 20-31celcius
It gets about 1 to 2 litres of water morning and evening depending on how sunny the day is.
The sun hits it directly in the morning for about an hour then is shaded under shade cloth that is supposedly stopping about 60% uv for about 3 hours then is totally shaded for the rest of the day.
I havent really fed it anything(up until the handful of potash). I just made up a good brew of soil, potting mix, sand and chook poo, threw in a seed and what you see is it.
Set up the shade cloth when it started to bud because the days are getting longer and hotter and the sun here is very intense this time of year. Also the shade cloth gives me better control of the watering as when it rains it doesn't fall directly onto the plant(wet season here now).
Thats pretty much all the details. It has a fantastic mango aroma!!

I wouldn't trim the dead leafs, that's like opening an unneeded wound. But if its too much of an eye sore for you go ahead it wont really help or hurt.

also do you have a light tight area like a closet or shed?. They need to have 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to bud correctly. If your days are getting longer it may try to start vegetative growth. This far into flower that would stress the plant. at least you are taking steps with shade, but it really needs complete darkness for flowering

I do but it isn't well ventilated and the lighting is just normal fluros. Should i move it into the light tight area of an evening(i could set up a pedestal fan) and move back out again in the morning?
