last night when the lights came on i adjusted the ph to 6.2 and it usually takes a few days to drop down to 5.4. this morning after 12 hours of lights on the ph dropped down to 4.1, i readjusted to 6.2 and 8 hours later it is still at 6.2. there has been very little change in the ppm's. that was one heck of a ph swing, any ideas?

First I think ur adding too much PH down when ur adding it. Second i dont think ur feeding ur girls rite. Ph will RISE if ur not feeding enuff and it will DROP if u feed too much. Third i think u should set ur PH sweet point at 5.8 and keep it as close to possible at 5.8 as u can. Research ur strains and see what peeps are maxeing there feeds out at and get them eating how they should u will find ur PH begin to balance after that the grow will get boreing. Hope this helps. Peace.

haven't added any ph down at all, it goes down on its own and i'm feeding according to general hydroponics fed calculator with nothing but green leaves and juicy buds. i've been keeping the ppm's in the 900's. the ph spike was a one time thing.

the lights came on about an hour ago and the ph was back down to 4.9. it has always drifted down but never like this. the ppm's did drop down over 100 points. the plants look healthy but i'm not sure for how long. i'm going to keep a close eye on it tonight and if it starts dropping i'll change and clean the resivoir just in case i put to much of something in on the last change. maybe start checking the ph every 6 hours.

that's weird kev. I've never had a ph drop like that. Mine always goes up. You haven't added anything else to the mix have you? I'm sure you would have mentioned. I know some additives make the ph go down.

Any pics of the silver japanese phoenix chickens?

The closet is looking INSANE... that's a lot of buds in there. Wild!

You might see what happens if you turn off the CO2 for a couple days. co2 can make ph of water drop, and your airpump may be sucking a lot of it into the water? Maybe worth a try. The plants don't look like they are at the absolute max of bud production when they really thirst for co2 anyhow.

hey jig,
how's the mrs.? i bet you guys are ready for the baby. boy or girl? i spent the day with my granddaughter at the chicken hatchery. i love hanging with the little ones.

i'm draining and cleaning it right now. it has always dropped but never like that, usually set it at 6.2 and it takes a couple of days to get down to 5.4

those birds i bought had a bird flu and got my entire flock sick and ended up loosing half my birds. i bought some day old chicks to replace them and the damn snakes think i setup a buffet table so we bought some more and hopefully i have my brooder snake proofed.

Oops... bummer you fed the snakes so well. Thankfully I haven't fed the bear with any kittens.

Babies about halfway through it's cycle, lol. Been flowering almost 17 weeks now. Wife's starting to have a big belly. We are waiting to see if it's a boy or girl till it shows us it's stuff in real life. Should be a fun surprise. I love hanging with the little ones too. So full of wonder and innocense. It's beautiful. Wifes having a hard time sleeping these days and her back is starting to hurt... but he kid is good. Guess that's the price you have to pay. I feel like I'm slacking. I give her back rubs though. Thanks a lot for asking my friend.

Still thinking about the trip out east by the way. I'll keep you posted for sure.

after changing and cleaning the resivoir, the ph was sitting at 6.5 so i left it. 8 hours later the ph was back down to 4.9. i'll start checking it more often. the buds look like they are putting on some weight and a few of the fan leaves are getting the rusted up look to them. this grow has been smooth sailing until now.

after 12 hours the ph dropped down to 5.2. i brought it back up to 6.4 and see where it goes from there. the buds look like they're getting bigger everytime i look at them, so i'll take the ph drop as a good thing.

after a 12 hour dark cycle the ph dropped from 6.4 down to 5.7. i'm not sure what was going on with the girls to be causing such a swing but it looks like it is slowing down.

10 hours later and the ph is holding a steady 5.6. i'll keep checking often, whatever was going seems to of leveled out. think i'll shop around for something that controls the ph. that would take a lot of the fun out of the game, just set the dial to 5.8 and watch them grow.

found what i was looking for but it looks like i'll just have to do it myself until i find a used 1 at the right price.

it sure would be a nice compliment to go with the rest of my goodies.
Talk about an awesome addition to the grow. Man I'd love to have one of those things. How cool. I'm not really loving the price though. Nothings perfect I guess.

Glad the ph drop is under contriol.

peace
