Buck's Bogart: The poor defenseless gay

I'm not talking the movies, just real life.
I see the same things around here.

  • Protection is equal. I know a gay bar that fired a bartender because he wasn't gay.

    It cuts both ways.

I support their right to do so.

I also have a gay friend, he was fired once because his employer found out that he had accessed a gay website on one of their computers.

Was he fired for being gay, or for visiting a social website while at work? I lean towards because he was gay because folks regularly went to facebook on their computers. But gay.com was too much for them.

So far, the federal government does not recognize sexual preference as a protective class. So you bashing particular states for their failure to do the same is bullshit. It isn't states being bad, a minority of states offer protective status based on sexual preference.

Eventually I would say that sexual preference will gain protective status. How about the straight bartender getting fired then from a gay bar?

what bignbushy says is not a valid citation. did you really think that would count as a citation? you and NLXSK1 really did get the short end of the smart stick.

this is hampering my erection.

You know buck, back in the day when ppl beleived in something as strongly as you seem to they pledged their personal assets a fortunes to their cause...how do you measure up to this standard?
i'm not gonna stake the house and farm to make sure that gays can not be fired for being gay, or that blacks can not be denied lunch because they are black. i simply can't.

by that same standard, how committed are you to your belief that racist business owners rights reign supreme over the rights of blacks to expect equal protection of the law?

A citation can be most anything unless you are taking me to court.

I don't give a shit what you are as long as you are American. Sorry to any other nationalities that may be posting here, but, when it comes right down to it, the only country that matters is your own.

We Americans sometimes forget that regardless of the next guys beliefs, they are still Americans, treat them as such and you will see a difference not only in yourself but your country as well..

lots of immorality in this world, much of it practiced by great people. No one is exempt from being human.

but you do.

here you explain why you are opposed to civil rights: I don't think its a good idea....

Check it:

If I wont let purples in my resturaunt, gubbment shuts me down, makes me comply, whats left residually in me?
Do I now hate purples less or more?
Same?
Nope, I hate em more now.....and money we don't have was spent.

here is how i characterize your opposition to civil rights: your belief that racist business owners' rights reign supreme over the rights of blacks to expect equal protection of the law

you care as much about that cause as i do. we are both content to argue our causes on the internet and not stake our personal fortunes on it.

i believe that all races, blacks included, deserve equal protection of the law, as civil rights codifies.

you believe that blacks should have no recourse if they are charged twice as much for gas as a white man, or assigned substandard motel rooms, or denied a lunch at the town's cafe.

you believe that the black should just drive over to the next town to get lunch, or get gas at the same price, or get a decent place to rest his head, simply because it would make the racist business owner more hateful if he had to give equal treatment to all races.

tell me more about why you espouse this line of thought, and if you would like to retract previous statements and simply express support for civil rights.

They weren't rapists. Even murderers hate rapists. George Washington would be considered a scumbag even in prison.

It's ironic that you level unfounded accusations of raping slaves on Washington, while turning a blind eye to his hiring of one of the most flamboyant Prussian Generals in history who's name was Friedrich Von Steuben, who was well known to be overly friendly with "young boys"..... In otherwords the man was gay, and Washington knew it, but Von Steuben was a organizational genius and very much needed by Washington.

historical perspective. historical perspective is a good thing. it adds value.

do you also point out the immoralities of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr?

plenty do around here. i didn't see you yapping about it in any of the MLK threads though. double standard? overly defensive?

probably not.... Because why?
why don't you pipe up about it in the threads where MLK or malcom x are discussed?

THERE's no friggin value in it!
why point that out here and not in other threads you mentioned about black people?

The only perspective that claim can be had from is an anti American one, I mean if you want to be a hypocrite about this, imagine the historical perception that is given in the many women that Martin Luther King Jr had sex with while married... Some maybe not consensual themselves.

good day to you sir, enjoy it however you can. It is obvious you're a very angry little man that has a problematic perception of reality for the sake of political expediency.
