Bud crispy --- stem wet

So yeah drying my outdoor grow in a small shed currently. Everything is trimmed and has been hanging for 3 days now. The room is being heated with a small heater with the tempurature staying at around 45-60f (I know not ideal). The buds feel like they are ready to be cured, very much crispy. The stems however still are wet and clearly bend not snap. 3 days sounds way too soon to be done but man those buds really do feel ready. I harvested one plant already 2 weeks ago and it was dried under not very ideal conditions itself. It did however take 6-7 days to get to about the same feel as the ones now.

Really kind of contemplating jarring / screening them now. Any advice?

Don't do it yet, make sure the stems are dryer. They hold a lot of moisture and will cause you to get bud rot if you jar them up now. Wait until the stems are at least close to breaking when you bend it. When they hit the jar then the moisture will even out across everything and you will have buds at the right moisture. Not wet and hay smelly shit.

In a dry box in optimal conditions I sometimes jar it at 3 days depending on size of buds. In a cool shed just hanging they will need at least 3 more days possibly more.

I'm with manimal, better to jar too late then too early and get the rot. I jarred mine after 5 days hanging, the stem and the exterior of the buds should be dry but the center will still be slightly damp which is what you want.

Don't forget to air the jars twice a day or the grays will come and take your buds away, which is always a crushing dissapointment.

If the outside of the buds are crispy dry he is ok to jar now. I would leave the jars open for the first couple days. Then if the stems are still too wet he will just have to air out the jars more often and for longer amounts of time. The buds will draw some of the moisture from the stems and soften back up. Just keep a close eye out for mold. The longer you can draw out the drying/curing process your smoke will only get better.

You could also clip the buds, toss em into a paper bag, and stick them in a dark cool place for a day or so. Just make sure to check on them frequently so they don't get too dry. If you jar and there's still an excess of moisture on the sides of the jar just dump em back in the sack. It's worked well for myself and I normally let em dry about as long as you have before I sack'em.

i would also jar now if it were my grow. that moisture in the stem will equalize throughout the bud and you wont end up with crispy weed. just be VERY dilligent about checking the jars and airing them out. do not allow mold to grow. leave the top off for a day if u need to, or even throw it in a paper bag for a few hours if u burp the jar and it seems to wet. it will slow down the drying process a bit and leave you with much smoother smoke.

With a heater running you have dry air, your humidity was likely too low so the buds are drying unevenly. Unless your buds are tiny or very airy if the stem is still moist there has to be a good bit of moisture inside the bud(s), especially the largest most dense buds.

I would try a few average sized buds in a jar or two and see if a little or a lot of moisture builds up inside the jar(s) fast or slow. Then you will have some idea if you jar it all how often you will have to vent your jars without ending up with mold.

Ive never cured before, but wouldn't make sense to jar now and just make sure they don't begin getting mold rather then risk over drying which is irreversible unlike jarring to soon which can be corrected?
