Call me crazy, but my plants seem to be thriving under two 105 watt CFLs. Granted, they are in the very early flowering stage, and I'm curious to see how much they stretch, but I'm very happy so far.
For me, CFLs were the difference between growing weed or not growing weed. Including the clones, my ghetto CFL set up cost about $60. I don't have to deal with heat at all. My electric bill went up about 6-8 bucks a month, and that was mostly 24/0...I'm at 12/12 now.
I have no idea what my yield will be, but I'm sure my total costs will be less than what a half oz. costs at my friendly neighborhood dispensary.

your plant is only on day 5 of flowering. generally a plant will take 8 weeks to flower (it does vary but 8 is applicable to a fair amount of strains). you're only in day 5. you will need to flower probably at least 2 months.I have a few questions, I'm using 5 26 wat red spec for flower at the moment. I'm at day 33 of this bagseed plants life, day 5 of flower and it just started showing little girl hairs today.
First question is, what do you think the growth rate of the buds will be under these lights from your experience?
Second question is, from it being day 33 and all how long do you think it will take to flower this gal? My guess is around a month until it's looking ready.

your plant does look pretty good though i must say...especially for that amount of cfls. its pretty good.
i used cfls to veg my plants (first timer grower here) and then i decided i wasnt happy with my plants (as they vegged forever under cfls) so i got a 600w digital hps system. i personally think its well worth the cost (to purchase and electrical bills).
the bill wont go up too high...maybe $30-$35 a month at MOST. digital hps systems are the most efficient! (in the event you do decide to get hps..go digital not magnetic).
under 10 23w cfls (in veg) i never got more than 1 inch of growth a day. under the hps i've had as much as 4 inches in a day! (just this week it did). i've only had the hps 2 weeks but its really a HUGE difference compared to cfls. everything getting so much bigger, stronger and its doing it faster.
at least consider a small hps...250w or so (if you're growing on a small scale ie. 2-3 plants)

you'd have to go to a hydro store or go purchase offline.
if you decide to go offline you can try a website like htgsupply.com i got my hps system from there and it arrived rather fast.
i think they are a good option. i cant speak for the hydro stores as im sure i dont live where you live...
h.i.d. is the way to go. im convinced and have only had mine since the beginning of flowering (2 weeks ago today).
cfls worked well when they were tiny seedlings (they loved the 23w cfls) once they got about a 2 weeks into life (from seed) it was becoming easily apparent that the cfls would not suffice for a good harvest).
look at it like this. i used 10 23w cfls to veg. 7 were 6500K (the blue bulbs) and 3 2700K (the red bulbs). i got about half a inch per day on average...a full inch was the best it ever did in a day...i was using 16000 lumens (this is for only two plants mind you). the bulbs were each 1600 lumens...so 10x1600=16,000.
now (since day one of flowering) ive been using a digital 600w hps that puts out 95,000 lumens.
this is a link to the exact hps system i have. i got the standard hps it comes with...just click on it "standard hps bulb" in the options on the lower part of the page (right side) it will tell you its 95,000 lumens.

under the cfls they were getting 8,000 a piece (roughly). now under the hps they are getting 47,500 (once again...roughly)...and they are growing 2-3 times faster than they ever did and its constant. very steady growth.
