Bud Porn.. How long til Final Phase?

I noticed some hairs starting to turn amber and was wondering when some of you guys would start with final phase. I planned on doing 6 days with final, then two days with just RO water before hacking anything down. Any guesses on why my top colas aren't very dense? They still have about 2 more weeks before the end, but they still seem a little thin to me. I have no idea how much dry bud I'm going to end up with, hopefully at least 3o's. Let me know what you think...

Going by the color of the pistils is a pretty bad way of knowing when the plant is done. Get a 60x pocket microscope and look at the trichomes, if you want more of an up high you should harvest when most of the trichomes are cloudy and if you want more of a couch lock high then wait until they start to turn amber.

the other plant is snap peas.. my jalapenos didn't like my nutes i guess

next time, you neen do take half of the bottom of a plant that size off, and if you are going to do a scrog, then the sreen needs to be almost above the plant when starting flowering. and you will want to flower sooner or increase your space. otherwise looking pretty good. late

I think you will get more than 3 ounces. Its lookin good! What size pot are you using?

Hey jsgrwn---Mine look similar as far as the screen and the plant height. I flowered when they were 12" tall and "stretch" caused another 4'. I have 1400w of HPS right on them so it's not reaching for light. WTF am I doing wrong?

I planned on doing a better job pruning and actually scrogging it but, without a good reason, i failed. One seedling died so i had to delay flowering on the rest while my other seedling caught up (first mistake), then instead of pruning and topping the other three to stunt them back (2nd mistake) I didn't. Because my cabinet worked SO well as soon as the plants got more green surface area they totally exploded and in like 2 days they went from "could" flower to "should have" flowered. Then like 1.5 or so weeks into flower I left the room light on (outside the cabinet) and the cab door was cracked a little (BIG 3rd mistake).. think that's what turned one of my girls hermie. I've dealt with some soil/closet grows but this hydro/CO2 thing was definately killer. Anywhoo, I think the plan is 5 days to a week more (depending on trichs) with 1300ppm Sensi AB/Overdrive then flip it over to final phase.

What I don't want is to flush them when the trichs start to get cloudy, but by the end of the week have them amber too much. Can anyone tell me if i should be worried about this? I'd rather sacrifice a little THC content and have a raging cerebral high than have this start paralyzing people.

Since I have a good feel of wtf I'm doing with this setup now I'm going to do a way better job with my fem Power Plant seeds. I'm going to do 4 buckets with two "real" girls, peas, and try tomatoes this time instead of jalapenos.

On side notes: another fuck up of mine (4th mistake) was setting the cfh on my regulator to high and when it got cold in the room (outside cab) it froze open and wasted A LOT of gas.. And Druggy, the buckets are just regular square 5 gallon buckets stacked up with holes in the top one for drainage

Oh, and i had another idea... Since there's so many side buds on these beasts, can I chop off all the top buds/branches that were taking all the light and leave the side buds for another week or so to grow up a little? I've never seen anybody do that, but I've never seen retarded plants like these before either.....

i doubt you are doing much wrong, but when you are doing a scrog...there are a few key points. make sure the screen is high enough, they should not be growing through the sreen that high. the screen is there to both support the buds and promote even growth. once the buds start forming on the screen then you want to remove any leaves below the screen since they will get no light. also make sure your screen is high enough...move it if you need to. good luck, late...and it is difficult to do a scrog with a sativa, that might be your problem.

Hell yeah, 2 or 3 weeks even. Sometimes the plant begins to re-grow the bottom buds when the tops cut. They top out again.

They rebounded from the thinning and are really starting to beef up.. trichs are still clear and we are a little into week 6.

in my opinion i think they still have about a month to go!
none of the hairs on them have even started changing. thats probably why you say they arent that dense!
i also am using advanced nutes and the dude at the hydro store advised me against using the final phase before flushing. he said just flush with plain ro water for the last 2 weeks and the taste will be superb. he says that by using the final phase for a week and then plain water for a week,it will still leave a slightly chemical tast from the final phase.

That would be pretty ballsy to go another month.

I just put fresh AB/OD in yesterday so 5 more days of nutes then flushing time. I for clearing them I decided to do 4 days with Final Phase (because I already bought it) then 8-9 days fresh ro water. These buds literally smell like candy, there's NO actual skunky/pot smell at all. Lovin' it.

Well, I topped up the water again the other day and put some more nutes in (up to 1000). I want to start flushing but they just keep getting bigger and not clouding yet, but the color is really starting to set in...
