this is a nitrogen problem
hydro clones even need a little something
water only takes it so far
nute those girls
and it should help
only focus on new growth not old

The plant is starting to suck all the nutes from those leaves, which are why they're turning yellow. As most everyone here has stated, give them light nutes and in a few days you'll notice a positive change.

I agree with everyone's comments, i think my final verdict is that it is nute burn from the left over bloom nutes from the previous grow. I've only been doing water so that must be forcing the plants to feed on the bloom nutes, but if i leave only water there than it will still be feeding on the bloom nutes from the hydroton rocks pellets. So i put 1/4 dose of veg nutes and am going to wait it out a few days. The plants look like they have progressively gotten worse over the last day so i need to do something different. Wish me luck and ill post some more pictures in another day! Thanks for all the advice people

Really simple. Why do people over-complicate shit?

It's one of these two things...

A nutrient defeciency OR
Nutrient Burn

Right? So we are all at least agreed that you don't have the right levels of nutrients. You came back and said you didn't clean the hydroton before you started. Basically admitting that there's no way to know how much of what is in your water at this point.

So what's the simple answer? I would clean the hydroton thoroughly...just run it through with clean ph 5.5 water and clean all those rocks.

Then, empty the resevoir, clean it thorougly and refill with fresh ph 5.5 water @ 100ppm. Raise the ppm by 50 each day and you will see the plants turn around.

Whenever I'm in doubt as to WHAT is going on, just start it over and make sure to get things back on track. Don't overdo anything, don't set your ppm @ 200ppm in one day (if it was deficiency and you had no nutes they will likely burn).

Just start them off easy and you'll be just fine. Just get your house back in order.

This is a feeling to counter your feeling - it doesn't make sense to me that hydroton is by its very nature able to store 16 essential soluble elements required for plant nutrition and then magically slowly release them into solution in a from that is available for plant uptake. Hydroton is not an encapsulated, polymer coated food like Osmocote.

Another thought, Bloom foods have the worst kind of NPK values to support leaves. I don't know how many hundreds of gardens I have seen over the years ruined because newbies follow forum advice and label hype rather than learning what makes a plant tick. Not trying to be difficult, it's just an observation. It's leaves that make the bud. You must learn to grow as much leaves as you can and maintain them in a healthy, GREEN condition until harvest.

Good luck,

Any burn will occur on the new growth not the old growth. It looks like it is in desperate need on Nitrogen..BAD..When the leaves decay from the bottom up the plant is utilizing the available nutrients in the leaf for food because it is not getting any it the water. Only listen to hydroponic growers because the rules are way different than with soil and hydroponics is less forgiving, you can kill a plant within days where with soil you have a few weeks if longer to correct any problems. All is not ost though..good luck and do not over analyze.

okay sorry its been so long....i smoke weed and forget shit... don't hate. I added a 1/4 portion of nutes and within two days the new growth was lushes green and growing fast!!!! But, because im a RETARDED stonner, i have my lights all hanging from chains, but i added an extra cfl, and i didnt have chains. So, quick on my feet, i use a few clothes hangers.... big mistake. They are weak as shit because one of them broke and the light fell on my little babies. Luckily i caught it within a half hour or so of it happening so they aren't COMPLETELY fucked. One of the leave sets on the new growth for the bubblegum was burned off.... will the plants ever bounce back?? or was that too much of a shock for their survival??

It sounds like you have all these people on giving you some good advise on trying to grow good shit but you seem hell bent in trying to kill them, what about taking up welding or something ?

I recently had the same problem. It's a ppm. Bump up the amount like the guys have said above. steps of 200 will work fine. check ph at least twice recommend three times a day.
