Bud trimming

I saw a post that got me thinking, should I be trimming the buds as they grow or just letting them buck? I read on several info pages that if you do this it should start early? I am posting one pic of one of my bud sites for some ideas? They seem to be fine but other than trimming the bottoms of the plant should I do more?image.jpg

Personally I would just let them do their thing and only trim the lower sites plus any that shade areas you want light to get too.

I appreciate your input, I just saw someone else come down ona guy that didn’t trim his bud sites up? They looked great to me, but I’m no expert. So I thought I would throw it out there if I was missing a step.

There are defiantly different opinions and many not only trim but strip the plants almost bare at some points during grow. That is just not my style but it does work for others. I have only 1 plant going right now and it has been going for months, I did not do any trimming at all other than lower sites that were not getting any light and in my opinion it seems to be doing fine. It fills my 5X5 tent. That said, I don't consider myself an expert either but do feel what I am doing seems to be working.

Looks fantastic, I’m thinking I will just go with what I have going, it seems to be working. Why mess around with something that isn’t broke

If I am not mistaken you are talking about the technique of cutting off the tip of top buds?. If so I remember a thread or two about that, it wasn't a good technique, or at least I never seen anything close to a provable good reason to do it.

Sorry if it's not that, you appear to be showing a top bud there and I can't see a reason why you would want to trim it as they grow other than the above so called technique. If you mean removing lower bud sites that are well out of range of light then yes that is ok to do. Some do it through out the grow, I personally think it is safer to only do it during the stretch phase, but that doesn't make them wrong so it' up to you.

No I understood the thread as actually trimming some of the leaves out of the bud itself? Does that make sense? I think it is fine and from what I have read says that that’s where it gets a lot of light benefits?

I could be wrong and please correct me if I am, I am seeing a lot of people’s buds with no leaves at all so it makes me think I have done something wrong
