Bud Washing

Hi Guys,

Just a short post to give my findings about washing my buds lately.
Ive been growing indoors for like 2 years.
90% of all my grows where not washed so i know how the bud should be. How it should taste etc etc.
Bud washing had no impact on the Stickiness or Visible THC on the buds.
The buds where smoother and looked clean after washing.
Once they dried up real good they where just dank as fuck. Super sticky.
I was very concerned bud washing was going to ruin my bud - but after doing a side by side.
Washing some and not others - the washed buds smoked better and where smoother.
High was the same on washed vs unwashed.
I cannot see a reason to not wash. The plant just stood there for months and surely gathered dust and other stuff.

I dont have filters on my tent. YOLO

Just my 2c.
Ill continue to bud wash.

I quick rinse all my outdoor bud in water. If they can sit outside all growing season and take the natural rain from mother nature then I think they can handle a quick rinse. Never seem to hurt the quality of mine.
I would love to hear some arguments against it but you can't say it ruins the quality. I've experienced it firsthand numerous times. And mold has never been an issue either.

I ate out a dead horse on the road. I cant tell the difference between dead horse pussy and living human pussy.

Conclusion: there is no difference.

Foliar sprays are now a myth. Cannabis is covered in carbon dioxide dust!

Now a myth? Your nutty foliar is proven to have amazing effect on plant growth and nutrition uptake

What's your method of washing? Just dunk in straight water?

I add a like 1/2 cup 100% lemon juice to a sink full of water.
I then just dunk them and swirl lightly for like 15 seconds.
I did a side by side with some bud not washed and some bud washed.
Same high, smoother smoke on the washed bud.
It seems to dry and cure better washed.
But hey man - im fucking high like all the time. so dont trust me. try it yourself.

I find my experience washing to be similar to yours.
I'm indoors.
My method:
3 - 5 gallon buckets of tap water.
Careful to not get to rough I dunk them swirl them a few times in each bucket.
Move them to a clean closed dishwasher to drip off then move them to a tent with ventilation and when they dry, I go to Jars.
Looking at the water after doing it and smoking the finished washed buds compared to unwashed and I'm sold.
Anyone that tries it, use a powerful flashlight when looking at the water after the wash to see the crap that's floating around.

You also use lemon juice or just tap water?

I wash all my bud. The clean stuff in a weak H2O2 solution. The bud off plants with rot I up the H2O2 to at least 50%. I rinse mine in plain water, then spin in a salad spinner. I always have to look for bud rot, so I buck all buds off the stems and dry in trays.

This is interesting, so I've been doing some research. I'm convinced it's the thing to do. Makes sense, especially if you have pets. I grow in a closet with a baby gate to keep cats out, so you know there's got to be cat fur on the buds. I'm doing it for sure on this next harvest. I'm going to trim them, then wash them.

Why would you want to wash your bud when growing indoors,Keep all pets out of the area where the room is.I may be lucky to have a spare room,But i have two dogs and a cat and if i do get the odd hair on it i just pull them out.

I don't have that option unfortunately. They say it makes for better drying and curing. I've got plenty right now, so I'm going to try it on this one when its ready.

Pollen and dust is everywhere. I remember even before I started washing them, if I was dry trimming I would start sneezing my head off. Now that I rinse them off even indoors I dont have that problem.

I wouldn't recommend lemon juice but a bit of peroxide in water does the trick.
