Hey guys,

Can anyone give me there opinion on weather these buds seem small, i dont thing they are filling out like they should.

The strain is stardog/ stardawg that i have run before and had a great yeild but these seem way behind my last ones or am i thinking into it too much?

Day 30 and this is how there looking, i know they still hsve minimum of 4 weeks to go, one thing i have done differently this time is they have been topped several times so each plant has around 8 heads. Also had some heat issues here and there due to the heatwave we have been having in the uk.

Thanks in advance.

I dont think it is the mollasses, its only had it for the past two feeds as i kept forgetting to add it in
Not to sound like a jerk but write shit down bro. My former sensei/guru, who was a strange guy but great grower, said keep a log of what you do on a clip board or something.

Another thing that supposedly helps bulk is epsom salts aka magnesium sulfate or the sulfate/sulfur part.

Heat issues - silca in you watering can help. It also makes the plant and stems stronger.

Here's a plant to compare picture #1 to. Day 31 under 200 watts COBs in 3000/3500k.

This plant is in prime conditions. At this point it's getting busy making flowers. In two weeks they'll be three times bigger. Patience, your plants look spot on.

Looking good,

Yes mine are looking exactly the same more pistals than buds... i think im just over thinking things as the last run with this strain i just left them to do there thing no topping or anything. They have been incredible in terms of veg growth and even the speed in which i had flower formation.

Good luck with you grow

am half joking. the molasses is not helping your plants no matter how much this forum wants you to use it though.

there is no trick to bulking buds or else it wouldnt be a trick, just the way we do it right.

bulking buds starts with providing all necessary resources to your plant.
it only grows to its weakest resource. you choose which to short your plants
then you choose to accept the results.

air -water -substrate -c02- proper nutrients -temperature -humidity

which resource(s) are you choosing to suffer? what if thats the reason(s) you see smaller buds?

I agrre with what you are saying, my underatanding of mollasses is not that it bulks up buds its that it feeds the micro organisms in the soild helping to break down the salts etc thus giving the roots a better enviroment allowing the to uptake the nutrients more efficiently... i have just posted a photo of the smae strain around the same point and they look similar. Maybe the biggest downfall i have on this run is the swing in my temps which all being well are back under control.

but molasses also has items in it that are not helpful in your substrate. you can alternatively use an organic program that
will support your micro organisms in a healthy manner without adding kitchen items that do harm to your plant.
if worried that you are not supporting enough micro beasties look to your nutrient and ph and watering habits, these done properly always support them /
if you insist then you can safely bubble some compost/fertilizer with water and a drop of molasses into a tea , but I'd stick to pot roasts and bbq sauce only.

I stopped adding molasses when it turned my top layer into concrete. I had topped the pots with sand to deal with gnats. I'm pretty sure the combo was starving the plant of o2.

That's probably not your case though.. I'll cross my fingers for you in hopes that they get caught up.

High heat out of the blue like we had with that dirty heat wave can halt growth to a degree, the same as any big stress on them can.
You shouldn't compare a single cola plant to a multi cola plant, the more colas there is the smaller the buds. That's not to say you cant have big buds on multi cola plants but generally speaking a single cola plant will look bigger. Might not notice much when dealing with 2-4 colas but 8+ and it should be more noticeable.
