Build it around the ventilation!

This unit is going into use tomorrow evening!

The light will be mounted over the box to give me maximum use of the box height (49"). A sheet of glass separates the 400 watt hps from the plants, the light and reflector will be enclosed and ventilated with a 50cfm fan.



The exhaust fan for the grow chamber sits directly below and behind the hps light to move out all the hot air. The exhaust points towards a window and has an activated carbon pre-filter to catch most of the smell.



One small fan is positioned up top pointing down. Another one will be positioned down low pointing up.



The chamber intake is positioned down low to pull in the coolest and most co2 enriched air.

Tomorrow the Mylar will be put up, the DWC units inserted, the HPS positioned and enclosed.

my setup is almost identical. yours might be a little bit taller though and i have a 600W HPS. its too hot though it stays around 90 all the time i cant get it any lower.. ;/ im thinking a 600W is just too powerful for my small area..please post the temps once you get the mylar going...

First off i just wanted to say nice setup, I am thinking about building something close to this. Just a quick question what are the dimensions of your box and room its in if you don't mind me asking?

Here's the light on top of the cabinet. It is enclosed in a sealed box now, but I didn't take a picture of that...





I've come to the conclusion that Mylar has a mind of it's own. It finally bent me to its will.

Plants go in tonight!

Oh, I highly recommend that air pump. Each 15 gallon reservoir has a 4" and a 5" round air stone. It pushes enough air to make the water look like a rolling boil. I think that one pump could effectively oxygenate 100 gallons
