Building 50'x50' storage shed for SUPER GROW

....Just kidding!

I'm building an 8'x8' storage shed out of particle board and some sheet metal roofing. I plan on putting some cheap flooring over the sub floor made of particle board. I was just going to use drywall screws and latex caulking to seal this up. I was going to have some white/reflective wall paper as a weather proofing.

Is particle board too cheap? Does anyone have any ideas as to what might go wrong with this?

All airflow and temperature, ect. are going to be very exact. Does particle board allow for a humidity controlled environment?

Any additional thoughts would be appreciated!

you've probably thought of this, but you should probably water seal (polyurethane) the particle board, it will absorb water and rot pretty easily.

Oh all of my airflow will be sealed with caulking, like I said. What is ridiculous about the storage?

Well no matter what you use, with an 8x8x? size you're going to need studs, but you mentioned a subfloor so I think you know that IMHO I don't think particle board would work out well outside. It's just not the right stuff for the job ya know try like 3/4 pressure treated. Whatever you decide on good luck

Your right. And I am aware of that. I guess I'm being skimpy. My next choice was pressure treated, but I am trying to keep the cost low. Any other concerns?

Oh and it is 8x8x8 with traditional descending roof, so at the tallest part is around 12' tall or less. I forget what the "decending roof top" is really called haha.

Would you recomend something other than 3/4 pressure treated considering costs? I am on the coast, so moisture is a concern.

I've basically wrote off the particle board as a dream to my pocketbook and a nightmare in real life.

Dude you should just frame it up and use a moisture barrier. Insulate, and finisht the interiour. I find it hard to believe that you are set to build an 8 x 8 shed and you know shit about building materials, or building for that matter. Maybe you should try building a 4 x 4 grow room in your house or garage first.

Well I said 3/4 but depending on how much you want to spend you could even go to 1/4 PT with non pressure treated studs inside, as long as it stays relatively dry in there. And you said moisture was a problem so mostly anything else is going to rot away. Theres also the option of metal siding which would be good too. You just need to do more sealing work with that system.... It's really up to you

dig six holes with a post hole digger, four on each corner and two halfway down the two longest runs. Pour concrete and post in the holes. frame a floor. and then frame the building. Youll prob have to go to a diy forum for more building specifics. You might have some code shit to deal with in your area to avoid the authorities. Sorry i was rude man, Your idea sounded like overkill. But maybe thats just cuz im secretly jealous cuz ive wanted a 10 x 10 grow room for a minute. Keep me posted and if i can help i will. Sorry for the negative shit man.

Try Googling some DIY home improvement sites. Im sure that lots of materials would be great for that.
