Building COB array and frame.

another thing- if youre building more in that same style you can actually get t-shaped material for those middles where you do back to back. rigid as hell. in your case you can also shoot a screw or two between them and it will really stiffen that frame.

I had that in mind too, but was leaning towards each row is on a driver. Instead of having a straggler on next and so on...but that layout is prob wayyy bettwr for light spread...and at end of day that matters more so yah I prob will go that route...im still keeping drivers inside frame!!!!! somehow lol
I put my drivers inside Changing the spacing and regret it just because I can see it each time I look at them.

Shit!!! My OCD and perfectionistism is going to kill me w this build...luckily we all have a cure to mellow out...think a toke is order than some planning:blsmoke::hump:
Planning equals overthinking which is not bad! lol. There is no cure for OCD perfectionism. Because we will ALWAYS find a flaw. When I built my fixture my shitty ass miter box drove me crazy because all my cuts were angled slightly. I had to work through that shit or it would have taken me twice as long. It took me forever to build a whelping box once because the screws had to be spaced just right. I kept telling myself " all it has to do is work asshole, it's not permanent".

I remember a few years ago I was in the hospital and my wife comes in the room to see how I was doing. My response. "The tiles on the ceiling don't line up" Where can I find a job where I find flaws. I would rock that shit!

Just placed order for second 300watt 4 COB kit...damn this light will be expensive. But the offset of heat and cooling (cost more to cool my HID setup than run it) cause my silly ass is running C02 in tent. So using dehumid combo to keep cool and RH correct also to recycle air and not waste so much C02. Get 7-8 days out of a 20lb tank at 1300ppms. Heres pics of crazy recycle job and progress under HID w first scrog also.image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg
Will be able to fit just this dehuey in with cobs since ill only be battling RH and image.jpeg cureent ones wayyy too big for inside.

Haha, same here bro. Whenever I touch anything I have to remind myself that it doesn't need to last 1000 f'n years, just 1 since I'll be bored and have tossed whatever I'm currently working on at that particular time anyhow. Got a single 300W kit from Timber running now, love it. Good stuff man.

I do everything overboard, this will be a true 900watt COB array. See what I can pull with this. With four plants and HID I was averaging 4-6oz dry per plant (being topped). For me its the electric bill that kills me, also not a cannabis friendly state and our kwh rate is insanity 21¢ per:wall:

Also tents in a 6x6 room (in my shop so customers and such have no idea) the room itself will most likely be converted to sealed and ill use tent to hang and dry and ditch and packup my 3x3 in the other supply/grow room. (Turn this area into a drying supply zone then) like you said, always fucking with something and changing it around

I am what I call a type A-. I procrastinate on things that disinterest me, but when I do them I do it to the extreme. Like cleaning. I think it's because I am too busy obsessing about the shit that does interest me and I am researching the shit out of it. It's funny but always seems to be expensive. Just ask my wife.

Second kits coming (with nice plugs to connect all pots to one, TY Dan) so had some time to mount the others. Hope tent will hold this all said and done. Apollo claims they support 100lbs. I'll be well under it by 30 or more pounds but true test is if a $1600 light comes crashing down

Taped COB's cause damn metal shavings were all over, prob could have left them but rather not wreck a brandy new one.

Hey bro I had an apollo tent, loved the zippers but didn't like the way the support poles slid around easily so I ended up using police-sized zip ties to cross-support them, 2 per brace end. It was tight enough to keep them in place very nicely but still provided just enough play to slide the poles in small increments if needed. With a beauty like this hanging off them something should be done to firm up that weak-point, good stuff though man. This light is going to kick ass.

I ended up going with a GrowLab tent (GL80L to be specific) which has rigid ends that snap onto the frame and hold in place. I love it but the zippers suck compared to the apollo.

Ordered final kit today. All parts should be here next weekish. Hoping to have done asap. Minor back surgery has held me and will hold me up from doing stuff for a bit, but this baby will sure be able to burn out your retinas. In the meantime you guys can toss names for this 900w TRUE LED COB fixture and ill stencil it all over it. Guess we can do it by most likes on said name. :fire:

see your ac unit looks ghetto and cool

wish we saw more ghetto looking led lights, tape and cable ties holding them together, I did use a clear "chinese take away container" as a casing for a 70/100w cob light, still got that up running it looks ghetto, I`m not sure if plants grow towards it or away from it

See that work bench type area you make that really nice frame in......... I`d have weed and lights set up there already so I`d be there with cobs and duct tape, lol
