Bulbs And Heat Management

Hello!

I`m quite a new grower, really new actually. I have a 120cmx120cm tent with a 600w HPS bulb! But now, at summer its generating a lot of heat, even at night (when I turn on) Some days getting 30 degrees. My question is: There is a way to reduce this heat inside the tent? I use to open the tent when lights on.

I`m thinking about to get a new extractor, more powerful, to put in line with the bulb, or replace to a LED panel I have (https://www.amazon.es/BOSYTRO®-crecimiento-Interior-termómetro-ajustable/dp/B08CNK3DLH) but I`m not sure if the light produce by this led panel is enough for this tent!

Thanks anyway, and sorry about this newbie questions!

Cheapest led replacement I can think of would be the hlg 550. An air cooled hood with a seperate fan venting the heat outside would probably work.

Yep, an air cooled hood would help a lot. I can't run my CMH during the summer for the same reason. Be sure you have a strong enough extraction fan for your needs-increasing the cfm will also cool your tent. Keep in mind, a 600 watt LED isn't going to be any cooler than a 600 watt hps, but your leaf temps will be cooler with one. You'll still have the same heat problems unless you increase your extraction rate or cool your room with AC. Do you vent outside?

Where do you vent to? Where is your tent? What's the temp of the room your tent is in?

No matter what the tent will never be cooler than the air you bring into it.

Running my 600watt light I had to keep my apartment at 72 for the tent to be in the low 80s with a 6" blower on 100%.

Now I run an LED and set my temps for 76 in the summer and tent is low 80s. So much better on my wallet. AC expensive.

I vent into the attic....not recommended if you are doing a large grow.

As the guy above says, you won't get the tent lower than the air your bringing in , without AC .
After that your air temp rise is directly related to the amount of air you extract, assuming its properly extracted outside the house.

As suggested an air cooled hood would be the simplest way and you don't need two fans to use one.
But again it depends on your ambient air temp, so you can start by telling us what your normal room temperature is on a normal summers day and night?
Then we can say more accurately what the best solution is.

Also pics or links to your current equipment and a better explanation of how it's set up.

We can only really help when we have the whole picture.
