If you would steal from someone who has almost nothing you are lower than they are. Do not try to pretend your are any better because you can 'justify' your motives.

Not all street people want a Home. Some prefer to be away from folks who judge them. They have no desire to be saved

Any of you spend any time among the street folk??? Are you forming these opinions from the comforts of home,driving by? I think the latter..

The ones with dogs that I personally know take better care of their dogs than most of the rich I know take care of their children.

I don't think I could for one, although it would probably be the right thing to do, as the asshole neighbors don't treat it right.. but it would probably fuck me and my other dog up.. Once I went out there and tried to get its attention n shit, just to see how it was, if it was friendly or whatever.. instantly started barking.. lol.. I don't blame it.. I'd be pissed too.. shit. But those dogs are genuinely dangerous, Idk if you've ever seen a Pitt up close but goddamn, they actually scare you. You get the feeling they could actually kill you, like you would if a Lion was walking around.. My friend had one, and it started growling at me one time! Omg! I almost pissed my pants dude, not kidding! They're really muscular animals. Try petting one if you ever get the chance, lol, it feels like they work out.

It deserves a better home though, definitely. I feel bad for it..

Pits CAN be dangerous, but not ALL are dangerous.
A good friend of mine has a very nice Pit, she will let you IN the house, but won't let you OUT of the house without protest because she likes everyone.
She is also very protective of the children.
I am a firm believer that it all depends on the owner

Our pit bull is the opposite of a guard dog...but he looks like a guard dog and that is good enough for me...Lol. My toddler rides him like a strange pony on occasion and he seems to enjoy the interactions...I have had a lot of pit bulls and pit bull mixes. I like a big square head. Anyway, They are great dogs, happy with just food, water, and company.

What bothered me is that you've broken it down into a simplistic moral dilemma. You posit that if Homeless Guy keeps dog, that proves he's selfish. I don't agree with that judgment, and without it your case doesn't hold together. My opinion. cn

if the dog has health issues then yea it is selfish of the homeless dude. he doesnt have the dogs best interest in mind just his own.

I said this earlier, jobs are not that easy to land now days and we don't know the hobo or his town well enough to say whether he's not trying at all, maybe not hard but nobody knows his situation either. Srh did say he mumbles alot so maybe he has some kind of mental disorder too, but I agree having a pet that he doesn't have the current necessities to take care of was not helping his situation.

If this was the basic case of the story and he did say he's been seeing this for 3 weeks straight, I mean he obviously fed the dog, didn't seem underweight to me, I think I would have talked to the man and gotton some info from him about his daily routine, then again if he was able to steal the dog right from under his nose off the bike, doubt he had a very good bond with the dog anyway. If I was a bum and had a dog, I wouldn't let him out of my sight and the fact that he said the dig smelt like shit and fleas jumping within eyesight makes me more believe he didn't care too much about him.
So this can be said about when you stole that fire fighter's dog, was neglected. Dogs are social creatures and need to be around people as much as possible, animals can die from depression. So all in all, I'm decided that what he did was good in it's own way, not the route I would have taken but if Srh felt that strongly about it then it prolly was for the best.

Don't think any Animal humane detectives or whatever they are do that, they always take action of needed, most if not all have alot of passion for what they do.

I was trying to think of other options but my mind was still blank about what the proper thing would be to do, so I just left it at undecided.
