Burn issues with t5?

I have a strain of holy grail kush and I'm just wondering if anyone has had issues with too much light with this strain or any other. I started in a grow box with this and afghan Ryder kush. The afghan could get right up to the cfls and be fine, the holy grail kush at 3 -4 inches from the cfls starting curling and getting burn spots. I moved over to a grow a tent with a 4 ft 8 tube ho t5. I started at 6 inches away from the top of the canopy but it seems to be doing the same thing. Does my strain not like light, I hear others bringing lights down to 2 inches above the canopy. I also have a fan blowing between the top of the canopy and the light,it was about 90 degrees at the top of the plant

My OG Kush can get within an inch of CFLs before starting to bleach, and i have a top that is an inch away with no issue. I know this doesnt totally answer your question, but at least i can share that in my limited experience, i can get very close with no issue.

Standard nute burn

Flush with 3 times with air temperate ph'ed water

Allow to drain overnight

no further nutes until you have seen some positive response

the addition of a temp gauge in most indoor grows

is compulsory

good luck

Thanks for the replies, I am gonna flush it and see what happens, I have the light almost 6 inches away right now and it seems to be doing ok. I'm gonna play with it and slowing drop it down some more

I rhink i may have burnt some of my plants a little with my t5 light. I had it close like 2-3inches from the tops and i have some burnt brown patches and some leaf curling. If they touch the light it will burn bad.

Now that I'm a little further into my grow, I've found that with good air flow, i can allow my tops to get within 1/2" of the T5 bulb, but they don't produce trichs very well, about 5-10" away they produce noticeably moor trichomes. Im hypothesise that its a matter of temp and humidity more than being in such close proximity to the bulb.

Just my $0.02 as a follow up to my earlier post.

I have mine about 4.5 inches right now and I'm not seeing any curling right now. I have a fan blowing over the top of the plant, and have 2 inline fans now, 1 blowing fresh air in and another pulling hot air out, temps stay 79-81. I've added a humidifier because humidity is my only issue. With no humidifier, humidity is only 16%, with it it's about 30%. I don't turn it up real high or get real close to the plants with it though
