Burning In Hell

When people die, a common thing you hear people say is; "God has a plan".

If god has a plan, and you go to hell, it seems to me it's gods plan for you to go to hell. Or does god only have a plan for "good christian folk"?

Lol, Vegas... that would be cool if denied access to heaven.

He created hell for the devil and his army. God wants you to be with him, but he can't let satans army (sinners) into heaven. Christians (not all, but I'm pretty sure a large majority of Christians) don't believe god sends you to hell, they believe by sinning you are buying your own ticket to hell.

Just a FYI (but non dickish), I don't follow their view of "hell". I'm just talking for there side, but let's continue this debate so I can hear you out, :).
Yeah, we've been through this on the free will thread. Since God is omniscient, he knows upon creating each individual whether they are going to heaven or hell. We can't buy our own ticket to hell since we really make no choices. I guess the question is, why would god create us that don't believe if he knew we'd end up receiving ETERNAL TORMENT. I would never choose to have a child if I knew that it would suffer eternally. That's just beyond evil...

Hmm good point. That is fucked up. But I've always thought that even if some of his creations would go to heaven being punished eternally is just too much, lol. Fuck it would be too much to be in heaven eternally. Well that's why I don't think he would send us to hell. And if he does send me to hell then I wouldn't want to be with him anyways. << if I said that in church they would hang me, haha.

So your answer will change depending on if you believe in free will or no free will.

Win for Tyler, lol.

Its a win for logic there, Tyler just knows how to correctly understand and apply it...unlike most here.

i dont want to suffer 2 life times.....

i did read a picture comment before that said the light you see when you die is the light of your rebirth to your new life lmfao.

edit

it said "what if the light you see when you die...is you being pushed out of a vagina into your new life"

Alright so if you guys are talking about the Christian religion then in their beliefs god doesn't send you to hell, nope he just rejects you from heaven. And apparently there's only two worlds to go, heaven or hell.
I was well propagandized as a child by the Missouri Synod Lutherans, a Christian religion, and they preached eternal torment and suffering, not just rejection, if I lived the type of life I have lived.

I guess I just felt I had to find out for myself if they were bullshitting me or not.

LOL I think heaven and hell is such an awesome concept. x) To be honest, I'd probably choose hell given the option. I don't think I'd like heaven. All the things I enjoy doing are a sin.

Hi, nice thread. I understand God's punishment as the following. As humans, we are all given the chance throughout our lives and before our deaths to come to know the holy trinity, The Son, The Holy Spirit, and the Father. Even if a man does not know Jesus at his time of death, God will judge him based on his moral decisions on earth. We are all born with the capacity for right and wrong. Atheists and communists and muslims who don't believe in Christ are still responsible for making good works on the earth with his brothers. The whole Hell thing is curious, but if a person can honestly try seeking God throughout his adult life, he shouldn't have to worry about the space that was reserved for all his failed creations.
I don't understand the logic behind burning in hell does God want to punish us so bad that he would give us an earthly body that couldn't be destroyed just so we can burn and feel pain forever. Plus how could we feel pain from burning in hell if we don't have nerve endings and stuff. How can you burn a soul that can feel no pain or be destroyed.

In the Christian religion, which is what I assume this thread is referring to, hell isn't a place to party. It's a place of torment day and night for eternity. Now heaven is a place where god wipes away your tears and you get a new life were you can pick fruits off vines and live off the land in peace with the others. Sounds a little gay, but still....

Sounds like hell. I mean hell is hell, but both are torture, at least in one you get to keep your dignity. x)

Ya know, I've kinda thought about it this way, but never really came to this realization until now. God made us live this strange 70 odd year truly ephemeral existence, only to burn in hell for all eternity and never know a single happy thought? WTF? Does anybody else realize how big a dick that makes god?

No offense to you, :).
But see man, that's why I don't go to church. They try getting you in with them by putting fear in your head. They create a false path that leads you astray from what we are meant to do. Even the bible warns of false teachers and churches that were to be built during our time.

All I know if I had a church I would help every single person to find their own path. I would never even speak of hell, at least not to strike fear into people. Instead of taking money, I would go walk everyone around the streets and help people in need right then and there. Like I wouldn't even touch the money, I would tell the people to give the money to the homeless right then and there. I would try to help people understand god out of love, not hate and fear.

I see it in the following light: The whole church experience depends on the individual interpretation. God (the god of Heaven) wants his people to know him only if they genuinely want to. obviously, if the people are so well off from the beginning and don't need god, then those individuals will have a harder time finding the way.... until catastrophy strikes and the individual loses the stuff he/s holds dearly. When important stuff like money, love, health fade away, tough people will collapse and find God. IMO

God doesn't talk about Hell, day and night, like people do. I can't be sorry for dramadouches that spout damnation. I know/heard about Hell but I don't think about it 24/7. Why? Wouldn't that be setting up for failure? Thinking about the good stuff is key, and hell slayer preachers should STFU but that is not God's fault. Humans are just out of order in all departments.

Yeah I'm not saying it's gods fault.
I'm saying those preachers are leading blind people to their own "damnation". Not that I believe in damnation.
Many many preachers are hypocrites off sir own teaching. Some churches are just there so the blind can lead the blind.
