Looks like our friend to the north is busting grow ops.
WINDSOR, Ontario -- A Windsor couple were arrested Tuesday after marijuana was found in their home and car.
Around 1:15 p.m., Windsor police executed a search warrant and entered the home of Chantal Gagnon subsequently arresting her there. When police searched the home of Gagnon, they found 274 marijuana plants and over 1,200 grams of loose marijuana with a value totaling about $288,000. Officers also seized electronic equipment used to help grow marijuana.
The woman's boyfriend, Charles Goyette, was stopped and arrested by police about 1:30 p.m. and his vehicle was immediately searched. The search yielded 282 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag worth $2,820.
Gagnon, 41, and Goyette, 54, are both being charged with Unlawful Production of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. Goyette has also been charged with Failing to Comply with a Court Imposed Condition of a Judicial Release.
