I'm going to try this with one plant I was reading a book buy Mel Frank. I know it will go into flower just hoping it will finish and not revert back. Will be using a five gallon pot for this test soil will be a mixture of vermiculite worms perlite and others I know this mixture will work. Will be using Botinicare nutes. The plant I will chose for this will be a Pot Of Gold Plant she bout 10 inches in the vegger now will put her outside the last week of February. The plant will get sun from Sun up till Sun down. All comments welcome and wanted.

Could work, depending on where you live. Closer to the equator the better. That won't work here in NorCal. Plant will revert when the days get longer.

It should work if you don't get frost/freeze & you have good Sun shine. I plan to do a greenhouse full (12) on the first of March, and I live in NorCal.

Go read the many posts on the outdoor growing page about how many people put there plants out in May only to have them go into flower immediately. There is still not enough day-length in May to cause veg., and by that time they will be at the end of flowering anyway.

I'll post pictures as we go!

Good luck with your grow, keep us posted!

Peace

Thanks for the encouragement my man I feel you. Here in the Bay I should be fine long as I dont have too much fog. I get good sun so they should finish in theory. At least that's what Mel Frank and Ken Rosenthal say we will see. i have upped the ante three different plants. Will add a Kananga and a Sour Diesel for sport that will be started at the beginning of Feb out side in a five gallon pot.

Do you get sun all during the day if so I would give it a try. To me it is just an experiment that way I will know if it works . I can figure how to grow year round if it does by vegging inside then transplanting outside in soil will also test this theory in a aero setup next winter. I know i can grow outside in aero. Can't wait for spring so I can plant in the ground. I'm loving this thanks to all who have inspired. FDD, GenFRanco, Subcool, Uncle Ben, Stinkbud . I have learned alot about growing better from you all and have used something from you all in my growing. So far great results and comments from the testers.

Thanks
Dirtyd

Comments welcome on this experiment in the bay.

yea its sunny all day but there is definatly not enough sun per day to veg outdoors right now. :( but i want to get a couple mother plants from a co-op and put them outside to flower for a couple months they r already in soil so i wouldnt need to transplant from hydro to soil.

In theory that should work and if put out before end of Feb will be done by May hopefully with a eight week strain.

I dont see why not the plant should be to far gone to revert back by spring so it should finish. Remember I'm trying this based on a book by Mel Frank and Ed Rosenthal. If it works and it seems to me it will i will harvest twice a year so a good thing.

I am on board too, we have lots of sun, and growind in this time seems logical.
though will it be enough time for a seed of white widow to go to veg stage by mid-last feb if i germ it next week?

thanks -first grow

Sound like to me you would be cutting it close. But it is worth a try it may not get to big though. Good Luck my plants have been vegging for over two months.

I thought I was all clever and shit when I thought about this round X-mas and picked up an order from Attitude seeds.
I gotta a few question I've rolling around in my head. Should you go by the hours of sunrise & sunset or the hours of Nautical Twilight because theres still visible light out. Also couldn't you just force darkness 12 hours after sunrise as the days get longer to keep plants from reverting or even worse, going hermie?
My plan is to start Church and Strawberry Haze mother plants early for a summer snack:bigjoint: and an army of clones for the harvest season:weed:. oh i cant wait

yeah man i plan the same, still waiting for those seeds to get here. gonna try 5 seeds, 3 in pots outdoors, and 2 in the ground in our yard. will try and get as many clones as possible for the harvest season as well.

why potted and ground, i dunno, just wanna see how they do. and prolly the ground one wil be huge, good source for clones no?

one more question, when we say light, in matters of sun, are we talking direct light or general non darkness?

I'm basing this on the change of the photoperiod of the plant going from 24/0 to outside should trigger flower. I have played with the lights inside so I know it should work outside. We will see very soon the plants go outside in February.

yes i started my plants outside about 3 weeks ago. 3 orange wreck plants that i got outa some bag of bud from a clinic. i have a grow journal on them. 1 seems to me like its starting to flower and the other 2 are still in veg it seems. im in so cal so the temps are pretty nice over here.

i live in so cal and i had some plants that were vegged in door and i put them out nov 1, i thought my plants would fully finish by now but the days are so short the plants are very slow finishing. You really need quick finishing plants to pull something like that off. Anyone ever started flowering a plant around that time? Any tips??
