every county is different...riverside county allows us 12 immature or 6 mature... but people living in the bay are allowed up to 90...

Ive been researching this as well. Unless your county has specified how many plants you can grow (assuming you live in california) you can have a total of 12 plants. Only 6 can be flowering at a time and you are only able to posess 8 oz.

I was just reading the paper work I received along with my medical ID card, and that is exactly what it says.

Up to 12, but no more then 6 mature plants....and as much "usable medicine as 8 ounces"

Although these guidelines are used by most counties. The states own expert has said these guidelines are NOT realistic for the simple fact--- "not all plants are created equal". I would however follow them until there is a more clear explanation if you want to avoid any scrutiny by law enforcement.
I have talked with a couple officers i play online poker with, and asked them what they thought about it- "equality of plants"- they dont care, they said theyll just make the arrest and let the court settle it.
I would AVOID getting any "cards". just your doctors recomendation is enough. All a card does is put you on a government list, then they know to check you.

what if im a caregiver for a friends prescription? then can i grow 6 times the amount of prescriptions im careing for? What if i grow and sell to dispenseries? can i grow more that way?

be careful doing that. any large grow op will bring scrutiny from law enforcement. But yes. 6 flowering plant per recomendation. A friend of mine usually does 30 outdoor with 5 recomendations. i have 2 rec's for my indoor. if it wasnt so bomb, id do some outdoor this year.

first off your friend is smoking a little to much..nobody is alowed 299 plants...the max number any rec could have held at anyone time was 99 plants and i dont think any countys allow even that anymore..there could be 1 or 2 of them..the limit varies from city to city and county to county...for instance in oakland you are allowed 72 mature or immature plants at anytime...for counties/citys that dont have their own guidelines the california s.b.420 defvault limit is 12 immature or 6 mature ( or not and) per recomendation...however s.b 420 has been overturned by the state senate court of appeals...what this means nobody seems to know..but it needs to pass through the state supreme court before anybody will make a final say so.....ohh...and always get the county id. card..that paper rec wont do shit for you until the cop checks up on it..with the county id there are no questions....

it varies by county, my county is 12 sprouts and 6 flowering females. in some counties its even measured down to square footage. ie you have x amount of space to fit as many plants as you can into

im pretty sure anything over 99 plants is FEDERAL
SB420 (which put the limits on how many plants) has been thrown out. The current limit is 12 immature and 6 mature, but the Supreme Court of California has decided that you can defend your need for more in court. As long as you can prove it was for personal use, you can defend your actions.

That being said...I grow 10, 10 small ones that is. It's defensible for indoor growing. the original # of 6 plants implied you were growing outdoor trees.

I'm looking up the reference material on the recent court case...you can look it up on canorml.org, I'm just trying to get outta the office and if I look that up I'm just here that much longer...

yes yes.. everything has been said.. But that guy could be allowed that... what if he is a caregiver for 3 people and lives in humolt county... that would be 99 plants or 100sqft.....x 3 ...

Its all county oriented but the minimum is 6 mature plants OR 12 imature plants. It does say it very clearly on all paperwork that i have and the california legal book on medical marijuana.

The whole Or vs And will be up to the arresting cop really. If you have 6 budding and you have clones going on the side he could technically confiscate those others... But i have never heard of a case with any of the medi users i know. Doesnt mean it wont happen... But its good to know your laws.

Of course all of these numbers pertain per Patient. SO if you are a caregiver for 3 people then it multiplies.

Being a caregiver is not as easy as you think. Its not like your buddy is just going to be able to hand over his script to you so you can grow in your house... It doesnt work that way. I wish it did... but they will call and verify that you are a patient...that its valid.. and the address.

When you want to be a caregiver you have to bring them to the MJ doctor at the time of your visit. You will need to furnish paperwork showing that you are the legal caretaker of that person (meaning its gonna be a fucked up person that can barely walk n shit... maybe old grandparents would be good for this... children if you want to get max cards)... yes you can get your children cards..LOL... I can just imagine that conversation at lunch time..LOL...

Anyway man... get informed by legal documents and shit. Think personal use and it will all be gravy.

Their rec and a piece of paper with their signature that says that you are their primary caregiver. That's all it takes.
