Because I just Caesar'd my growing medium. ONLY ONE POT THOUGH, you'll have to excuse thy cowardice, stabbing wooden skewers into plant roots is somewhat unorthodox to me.

But alas I did so, to the one plant that isn't growing as well as the other three. Does this look right to you? Did I make it healthy @hotrodharley ? I'm trusting I did this correctly, I stabbed probably 50 times, in all different places of my growing medium, and especially near the centre (where most of the roots are). These roots look sort of small to me.. What do you think? What can I expect going forward if I did this correctly vs. incorrectly?

Your post is kinda of explaining what you did but not why or to fix what...fill us in on why.
it's called aerating the roots. By stabbing the soil medium, you not only drive air down into the growing medium but you also break up compacted soil which may or may not be hindering new root growth. hotrodharley is a big proponent of this technique and could probably explain better than I could.

I had verged o n overwatering where the bottom was a swamp and top half of soil dry, plants were stunted. Used metal shish ke bob skewers to do this, seemed to work (as well as lightening up on the watering)

How soon until you saw results? How many days?

I dunno, at least several. I also punctured I few more holes in the side/bottom of the pot, and ran a bamboo plant support stake through the bottom/side holes all the way thru to the hole on the opposite side of the pot. That allowed some air and drying to the bottom part of the pot, helped a lot

You went a little heavier than I like to but see how it works for you . I do about 8-10 spots in each pot after I water once or twice a week and it seems like it's helpful with getting better roots for me. I also water fairly heavy so the aeration is important along with good drainage.

I just stabbed it about 75 times more, for good measure. This 'weed' is going to show me WHY it's called a weed and pull through or it's gonna pack its shit up & leave. Time to show me what it's made of!

Edit: I done added 4L of water in addition to all the aerating I did. We shall see what happens next.
