Can any one calculate pot sizes for me

I know this is a stupid stupid question but i have a hard time finding what i want on this site so if some one could quickly tell me what a 11inch wide by 12 inch deep pot would be translated into gallons it would be greatly appreciated. kiss-ass
 
i have a converter on my mobile phone and i just did the following

11x11x12 = 1452inch/3

then i converted this inches cubed on my converter on my phone into gallons for you and it is

5.233666868763 gallons

presuming ofcourse that its a square pot.

So remove all the bogus shit at the end for it getting smaller on the way down and it should be a 5gallon pot.

I have a round pot that is those exact dimensions and it is a 5 Gallon :) Hope this helps.

Jon, I believe the math is off somewhere..... it should be a cone-shape and I believe you have to multiply the RADIUSs (Radii ?) together
 
If its square then the math is good. Like i said remove the excess after the decimal point to allow for the decrease in size as it goes to the bottom. then you get 5 gallon.

I am just presuming its square rather than cone shaped.

If it coned let me know and i will work it out for you.

actually im a bit baked. Did i fuck up the volume ???

I cant see a pot that size 11x11x12 would be that big in inches/3???

anyone gonna correct me?

I really think he's got like a 1.5 gallon pot... not sure though... too lazy to go downstairs to measure my pots... LOL
 
Did I mention I HATE MATH...lol...ok well ill just assume its a 5 gallon

11x11in at the top cause its a round pot
12in deep from top to bottom
9x9in wide at the bottom of the pot...still round

Did this change the consensus
 
ok so the volume of your cylinder if it was 11inches all the way across and the same at the bottom is

1140.8571428571417

according to the site i just posted, now i will convert this for you into gallons

1140.8571428571417 = 4.112166825457

So to allow for your reducing size toward the bottom of the pot this would be a 4gallon pot.

Or a 18.6litre pot
