Can carbon filter clog? Or ventilation reduce noticeably?

Hey hey! Noticed more than usual odor, and it seems that my ventilation duct isn't as strong an output as in the past. I think it's been two grows since I changed the carbon. I thought air just passed through. Can carbon over time reduce air flow if not changed?

Also, I have a filter floss around the canister. I used to wash it. Didn't think that did much but keep dust out. Guess I should clean/replace that too.

Thanks for the reply.

they should have a life of 2 years . with that pre filter . unless your using a cheap brand mabe it did clog up. just unplug it see if its restricted you can feel the air flow on the other end right ?

I've replaced my carbon once in a 2.5 year span, using carbon pellets, 5 lbs. (see pic). The first time I changed the carbon, it wasn't as full. Factory-loaded. I drilled out the rivets to get the lid off. I filled it all the way to the top on the refill. Lid just pushes back on. Little bit of duct tape to hold.

Carbon is carbon, right? Or is there a better carbon to refill with?

I've heard using the granulated stuff is better than pellets because of an increase in surface area which is what matters but both work well I think.

I would say maybe go less than 100% full and see if that helps. If nothing else you'll save $$, and if the factory did it and it worked fine then why not.
