Hi, I have 3 photo plants that have had a tough old time of it. Quite a bit of early leaf damage due to poor environment. I’m currently coming upto week 4 and they haven been on a 24hr cycle. They are quite bushy and compact. I want to try change to 18/6 to get a bit more height but I’m worried it will trigger flower after 4 weeks? Or is that stupid as everyone knows it needs 12/12 for flower.... or should I just stick it out with the 24hr now?

Thanks, after all The trouble I’ve been through to sort these girls out, didn’t want screw it with summat as simple as that! Read a couple of places it could trigger flower or that it could cause them to hermie but thought I’d best check here.

No... inconsistent light periods, stress and light leeks cause hermies. In some genetics more than others

24hrs while in seedling stage, then 18/6 once first set of true leaves appear. You will be surprised on how quick they will grow with a dark period. IMO they've been on 24hrs too long... 18/6 wont trigger flowering as stated above. Also I'd get a full white spectrum light, blurples make it hard for diagnosis and lack the complete spectrum, sorry had to say it. Plants look good though!

You also have leaf tips burning and leaf edges curling I would get this sorted out before you get to flowering, what's your environment like? Temp, RH, soil ph, and runoff EC?

Maybe try to gradually get it down to 18/6. Maybe something like 21/3 for 3-7 days (or until you notice new growth getting bigger, then you can be sure that any amount of needed recovery/adjustment time is over). Then go to 18/6, or draw it out more if that's what the feel you have for your babes tells you to do lol they look good though man. Good Luck!

RH steady 70% can go lower but lead to believe that’s best
dont know EC
in coco?

gonna take @Neauz2game advice and give light 21/3 for few days then set at 28/6

@Miniweed94 was wondering about the leaves curling? 2 of them have it on a couple of fan leaves. 1 More than the other... what’s all that about? The tip burn was from earlyndoors I think… they took a areal bad turn but seem to be recovering?46C58204-3F99-4C66-8728-21BB749471FF.jpeg116C59DA-3466-4F64-8DB6-0439B49AA824.jpeg5AB430C4-8088-4F98-AE0C-E6E1DC764652.jpeg0C154EB1-DDFB-4938-AFAB-AD4B8CB661A9.jpeg872326E9-91FB-4AED-9BDC-8BE41119A9EB.jpeg

The top sets of leaves are looking better. I would kick the humidity down to around 55 or 60%. 70 is a bit high and I see you are getting moss or something growing on the media. Leaves could also be curling due to high humidity as they are trying to transpire (sweat out moisture) if you are growing in coco you really need to find good soluble nutrients to add to your waterings because coco doesnt provide any nutrients.

Yeah I removed the moss when Repotted. They were in a makeshift box while my first grow was growing in the tent, caused all kings of problems. I’m using AN ph perfect nutes at full strength and they seem to be kicking on. I’ll get the dehumidifier on an see if that will help the curling then?

I would check out a vpd chart. Don’t treat it as law but it’s a good way to keep your plants in a healthy environment. I keep my temps and humidity jungle style (80-86 F, 70-75% RH) and my plants love it, but I also monitor it like a hawk. When your temp and humidity are too far off from each other it can hinder your plants ability to function. I also have like 4 fans always blowing with these high temp/humidity ranges.
*edit Plants also need that cooler period without light just like humans need sleep. 24 hours of light for that long is not good for anything but micro greens
