Can I top my White Widow and Blue Widow plants at 18 to 20 inches?

Currently growing White Widow and Blue Widow (White Widow x Blueberry) and they are now 18 to 20 inches tall.
Would there be any point/benefit to top them now? Just read about topping, but it seems most people do it earlier.
Or at this point, would it just be better to tie down or pinch/bend the top?
I want to put them into flower at about 30 to 36 inches.
Thanks for any input.

Lol if you want them to stay at 36" then i would do it soon and make sure you keep them around 16' when they enter that stage. They both respond well to topping. You can manhandle those plants with almost no reaction.

Here's a pic. Tent is 4.5 x 4.5. Have 9 plants in there in 5 gallon pots. Also have a another tent standing by in case 9 plants becomes too much during flowering.WWWB.jpg
Should I just go ahead and flower now? Maybe I'm just too anxious.

I top mine at about 18" to assure they do not become too tall during flowering. Gratz ColdTommy420 those are some fine looking girls.

One of my last grows m8 was blue widow and my advice would be to top them anyway and scrogg them, the blue widow takes brilliant to scrogging

Thanks. One question, and maybe it's silly but I'm pretty new to this.
After I top them now at 18 to 20 inches, can I turn that cut top into a clone or is it too big/thick?
