Can I use distilled water in balancing water EC ?

Hi, my tap water has an high EC and PH.

When I add the fertilizers and the PH- solution, then the EC increases.

To balance it toward an accetable EC for my plant's growing state, I use distilled water (about 50% of tap and distilled water).

There is something wrong in using distilled water for this purpose or I can continue using it ?

Thx a lot.

The only downside I see in this situation is that you don’t know what is in the high EC tap to start with. So then you add nutes and “balance” the EC and you end up with a completely unknown random mix of ingredients in you water.

I’ve used tap water for years to grow, but it needs to be decent tap water. I had one house I lived at that the water was terrible and I had to go fill 20 gallons at a time at a different location for the whole grow.

The question is: there is any adverse effect in using distilled water to balance this water ?

Or I can even use ONLY distilled water ?

Great, thx for the advice !
Another thing : should I use distilled water also for the flush ? (with the flash kleen solution of course)

Hi @Billytheluther thx a lot for your answer and your proposal: you are very welcome in helping me, thx a lot.
As I saw a bad growing (see picture here ) just tonight I've completely changed my water mixture.
I don't have a RO system so I started with distilled water and added these nutrients:
The final result is:
PH: Now the PH is 5,7 and I hope it won't change a lot.
EC: The EC is 1.38 a little bit higher than desidered, but I hope is ok.

Maybe this will solve the Phosphorus Deficiency that I guess is the problem...

Any advice will be welcome :)

Thx in advance

J.

Sounds good, just be sure you plant can handle that high an ec otherwise you’ll end up causing more deficiencies
