 Newbie Idea...I was thinking of running the exhaust in and out of a grow box and back out to the roof. Growth Chamber is (L=48" H= 72" W=72") running 8 100 Watt CFL and 8 48" T5 FLO in Fox Farm Ocean soil. I could imagine heat:fire: would be the problem:dunce: but was going to have it chilled though a small Air conditioning unit that I use to keep my grow systems cool in the desert. I would much rather us this CO2 Puck thing but I cant find any info:?: on it. Money (electric bill and hydro stuff) is a real big issue here. It has to be cheap.

the only real danger is carbon monoxide poisning. At night your plants need oxygen not CO2 to thrive. as long as you can keep a negative air pressure in the room so none leaks into the rest of the houseit would be do-able. I've heard of this done safely in a greenhouse.

If I did adapt to the exhaust would only be directly to the chamber and back to the original roof penetration/ventalation. I would have to use a timer and a small incoming fan to controll CO2 the during dark period. Probably more time / problem than its worth:sad: Where is the puck with the sustained CO2 release:?:. Anyone?

Most of the smaller co2 devices are not that effective, a small fan blowing lightly over the tops of your pots would do more to provide co2 in the long run. Most people get very little gain from co2 because they are not a great grower. It's like the guys who get 2 lb per light, I have heard of it but never seen it. You need to have everything right than go to co2 and you will see a gain that you can weigh. Took me a year to dial in my co2 generator anyhow there is no harm in trying to increase co2 with harmless products. If we don't expearment we would never more forward.

I get that the silent killer is lurking and it would be a better idea to let it go. I'm sure if done properly it wouldnt pose such a threat. I don't have the time or money for mistakes right now so I'll pass.

Gas hot water heaters being located in a separate outside room in pretty common in the southwest US. Would it be a bad idea to just grow in the same room that the gas water heater is located? I was considering moving my small grow(3 lowriders) into my attic but I came to teh conclusion that I would have to set up a tent in my attic in order to keep the temps fairly steady. Last night I went outside to turn up the water heater a bit and noticed that the water heater room was fairly warm. I am going to monitor the temps for a few days to see how much fluctuation it has, but I figured the extra CO2 wouldn't be a bad thing, plus getting the grow out of my bathtub would be a good thing.
