Can misting flowering plants cause mold?

Hey guys, I was just wondering if it's safe to spray the leaves of a plant in the flowering stage or if it could cause mold to form on the buds?
And another question... I had my light at 24/0 and then began setting the timer back by 2 hours every day until i reached 12/12 for flowering; so when would you say my flowering cycle began? The first day i started setting the timer back, or the first day at 12/12? (it took 6 days to do this)
I posted these under another thread in growing problems too, but no one's responded yet.

I would not mist your flowering plants. Fungus likes warmth and moisture. So yes.

Six days' difference is irrelevant. You're not going to harvest based on what day it is. You're going to harvest when your buds are mature.

In general, while it's marginally more natural to transition as you did, the opposite approach is usually taken to ensure initiation of flowering. In fact, many put plants in the dark for a full day or more prior to 12/12 for this purpose.

you can spray it the first four weeks of flowering just keep the lights away and the fan on them till they dry. good luck.:joint::hump:

yea first 4 weeks sounds about right but i would mist them when there in there dark cycle while keeping the fan on them. You can burn the leaves if you mist while the lights on. Also flowering started the first day of 12/12

I think i would take the advise of the guy with 1,600 post. It's also my advise but I just have over 300. Keep them dry and free of mold or worse yet bud rot. Good luck
