Can someone explain? Is this a problem?

This is a Gen 1 of an inbreed strain. GLD crossed with GLD. I’ve never one seen this with any of the seeds sowed. Can someone explain why this purple color has appeared? Should I be worried? Should I keep it and take advantage becuase it’s good genes? I’m just not sure! Thank you for the answers in advance!

Badass! Alright so I have another question then, In your opinion, should I cross this one specifically, with another strong of the same strain? Like cross this GLD female with another strong GLD male. Would that make it more likely to appear in the next batch of seeds? Would it make a positive difference? In y’all’s opinion of course! I’m looking for opinions!

Normally cooler temps makes them go purple
An oscillating fan blowing on them when the lights are off the temps are down

Best you can get is a definite maybe, if it's a phenotype, will it be more likely to express if bred to another like plant, probably so. It's a pheno, so there's no guarantees, but it should increase your odds. If you really want to try and save that trait, then I'd say treat the plant with colloidal silver or similar, and make feminized seeds. That way you know the trait is very likely to be carried to the next generation.

That's why feminizing would work best. The plant you treat is female, you get male flowers on the treated portion, but the DNA of both "parents" is the same (with that pheno). The silver hormonally changes the sprayed portion to produce male flowers.

Allegedly you can reverse males and check out the flowers they make like reversing a female for pollen. I'm pretty sure those pistols are an awesome pheno and I would definitely keep a cut of that around for future playing around with! I'm very excited to see how this plays out. A cutting is really the only way to guarantee and preserve these genetics, than it's just look look look. My dad had a mother alive for over 12 years and lots of very different yet very awesome things came from some of the side grows/trials with her.

I agree, there can still be a lot of variation, but statistically you’ll have a better chance of carrying the pheno if both parents (feminized) have the trait, as opposed to only having one parent, that you know, has the trait.

Yup cause if it's recessive or the result of multiple recessive genes, it may never ever pop back up or might take multiple generations and 100s of plants to search through. No one really knows yet. It's going to be a nice tool to have once more strains have gene maps done. Even the 3 plants that are mapped, we still really don't know which genes do what so there is still so much learning to be done. I'm really excited to see what the next decade will bring us!

I’ve heard about colloidal silver and feminized seeds, but I don’t understand at all. Why spray it will colloidal? It’s a female plant.

To reverse it to produce pollen to pollinate another plant to make fem seeds however sts is better than collidal silver anyway

These are outside in a screen room, in central Florida. No fans at all. Interesting to hear that it can be caused, but I thought this definitely didn’t seem “normal”

Bxing or backcrossing means you take a male from another line cross it to the plant u like then cross it once more back to that plant u like thats a bx1 line now or backcross 1 you can do fem bxing to tho

You talking about using florel to check fem flowers on a male it works if its scent style breeding your doing otherwise i wouldnt bother
