Can someone please help me? my plants have orange specs on the leaves...

im a first time grower. I'm using 880watt led california works light in a 5x5 grow tent. I'm also using organic miracle grow in 3 gallon pots. I'm growing ak48f and my plants are about 5 and a half weeks old now. they look very full and leafy, a nice medium green color but I'm noticing some orange specs on some of the older leaves towards the bottom. what does this mean and are my plants sick?

I wouldn't worry about this unless it gets worse. if it does, you probably shouldn't have used miracle soil. many people that use it come here or other sites saying they have problems. mg soil tends to be on the hot side, loaded with ferts for long term feeding. once the plant is in the soil, if there's too much fertilizer the only thing you can do is flush it with a fair amount of water, then let the soil dry out quite a bit before you water again. what you have could be due to a deficiency or overfert, it's hard to tell, or it could be insects or a genetic flaw in the plant. hard to tell right now. the orange areas are pretty large. you have some leaf yellowing and the green areas on some of the leaves look to be a little too dark green, so if I had to choose now I'd say the soil has too much fert in it. this can cause more damage to a plant than under feeding it. foxfarm soil might be a better choice next time. it'll be interesting to see what others think.

I would add 30-40% perlite to that soil. It looks dense. If it doesn't dry in 2-3 days, I would do that. I see some mg def in some photos (the yellowing in the margins, between the veins).

They look good. I think the soil is the problem because ph rises as it dries. If soil is dense and dries slowly, it's like experiencing a more acidic soil longer. Ca and Mg are available at higher ph.

It's the soil. Are your plants pot bound? I would check you may want to prune the roots back, up can into five gallon pots and flip em to flower soon they look ready.

Did you start your plants at the same time there's a lot of height variation, maybe scrog them to get an even canopy your yields will be higher.

the two small ones i started week and half before because two died and i replaced them..is it ok to put in 6 gallon pots ..i would have 6 of them in a 5x5 tent

Not really. If you look at the label it has fertilizer added to it (.07-.07.07). If that's all you can find, I would poke some small needle sized holes in the bag and fill the bag with water, let it drain out. Do that 2-3 times. I assume that would flush it out. That's not much fertilizer, but it's a percentage of weight. I would try to avoid it.

That should be enough space they aren't very big. Do you have a fan blowing on them? Fans help reduce the likelihood of mold/rot and strengthen the plants stems.

yeah was just at home depot thats all they had ..next time I'm just gonna order fox farm ocean online

I would add perlite to that too. I have used FF but the images I've seen, it looks dense too. I'm going to try Black Gold Natural & Organic. It has virtually no nutes in it. (I imagine it's dense too. I think it helps to add perlite to anything. When I grew with Pro-Mix HP by itself I added 20-30% perlite. It already has a lot. Even now, I use 60% Pro-Mix HP, 20% potting mix, and 20% perlite.).

If you can find Thermorock, you can get a bit green bag for $20.

Hmm the local HD carries sunshine mix #4 which is a great medium for $25/bale. You should be able to fill 6 6 gal pots with that but add perlite or 50% calcined clay (kitty litter).

are you watering too much? how about pH?

ph flux or slight over fert
