think i might do a res change and see how it goes. the ppm raises and lowers daily
so does she need nutes or not?? she is 5 weeks from seed on friday.
Peace!

If it's only isolated to those couple leaves, my guess is that some nutrient solution or other shit got splashed on it.

I think you need to clear up whether or not you are using nutes.

As if your source water is running at 680ppm then there are some serious issues with it unless you have full breakdown of all the minerals in your water from your water department.

Thanks for this

Now try to answer a few straight forward questions with straight forward answers.

WHEN YOU PUT THAT WATER INTO THE RES DID YOU ADD ANY NUTRIENTS TO IT?

WHAT ARE YOU USING AS PH ADJUSTERS?

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CALIBRATED YOUR METERS?

WHAT IS THE STARTING PPM OF YOUR WATER?

Thanks for this-your welcome

Now try to answer a few straight forward questions with straight forward answers.
easy lol

WHEN YOU PUT THAT WATER INTO THE RES DID YOU ADD ANY NUTRIENTS TO IT?
no, just ph down when the ph was to high obviously.

WHAT ARE YOU USING AS PH ADJUSTERS?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/pH-DOWN-GROWTH-TECHNOLOGY-250ML-/140576014779?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item20bafbc1bb

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CALIBRATED YOUR METERS?

dont know how to calibrate them :(
any ideas, calibrated me ph pen when i first got it.

WHAT IS THE STARTING PPM OF YOUR WATER?
400-450

hope that helps
Peace!

Meters should be calibrated once a week in my opinion. Unless you are using a BLUELAB EC TRUNCHEON for testing ppms or EC's these are factory set and never need calibration. In order to calibrate your pH meter you need 4 and 7 buffer solution, that is if you have a 2 point calibration meter.
If you have a ppm meter that needs manual calibration then you need to get ppm calibration solution.

If your source water is that high already i would look at getting an RO filter for your home or go to your local aquarium shop and buy RO water from them.

Or make sure you are using a HARD WATER version of nutrients.

found this as well, so i know now were to calibrate it to.
On the TDS side, these ranges are from 0-5000 ppm to 0-8560 ppm.

By the quality of your meters and their price i would say your meters arent helping things i use

For EC /ppm i use

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYDROPONICS-BLUELAB-EC-CF-TRUNCHEON-NUTRIENT-TESTER-/230645447089?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item35b38a39b1

and for pH I use

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HANNA-HI-98103-Digital-pH-Tester-Meter-Checker-1-Water-/220614449078?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item335da557b6

The checker 1 pH meter uses 4.01 buffer solution and 7.01 buffer solution to calibrate.

I calibrate my pH meter every Thursday.

You will need to feed, pic 3 is showing clear mg issues. Pic 2 could be anything, does not worry me. Pic 1 makes me wonder what lights you are using? What type of ventilation do you have set up? Your EC meter doesn't really mater at this point, you are not feeding them lol. BTW, stating ppm numbers without conversion factor (.5/.65/.7) is meaningless. Try to use EC numbers, ppm is just a conversion formula from EC.

i agree i cant believe i missed the rusty spots on that leaf, however if his source water is 680ppm's regardless of conversion factor thats still high and could be the problem, and without proper calibration of his meters he wouldnt know. I still say before treating anything sort out your meters and test everything.

IMO op's ppm meter doesnt read properly i would suggest getting a decent one that you can calibrate with 1876 solution then you know exactly whats goin on i find your main water to be on the high side mine is 275 ppm out of tap and as for plant looks like something got splashed on them leafs they look other wise healthy and would suggest bumping up your food a little more
