Can You Extract THC From Cannaoil?

I guess the method would be to seperate the fat from the oil itself being the thc bonded to the fat. Does anyone have a method?
I put the oil in a jar of water and shook it around repeatedly for several days. I let it sit for several days and now it has a thick white film between the oil and water.
Could that film be the thc?

Can you?.. yes. Can you at home?... probably not. I'm think fractional distillation could do it.. If you knew the chemical makeup of the oil and the associated temps that each component boils off. Heat it to the known THC evap point, collect the gases and condense.. near pure THC crystal.

I'm going off shit I did in school 25 yrs ago.. so I could be way the F out in left field on this. Try asking in the concentrates and extracts area.

What the hell are you mixing here lol
Heat the mixture to 215°f, this is hot enough to boil the water off, decarb the thc if you haven't already, and avoid burning the oil.
Next time, just do a simple decarb, then simmer at 215 with only coconut oil, and strain with a cheese cloth. Easy, efficient, healthy

He's trying to remove concentrate from vegetable oil, not make oil.

Right, and I told him that it's just about impossible to do that. But he can remove the water from it, and use it for edibles.
Then I told him how to make GOOD oil.
If he wants straight concentrate he will have to use everclear or another solvent to remove the cannainoids from the plant material then carefully boil that off.

The second part is a problem.
Alcohol used by it's self to create a concentrate. Also removes other chemical compounds from the plant matter. You would again have to go to fractal distillation to remove things like chlorophyll from the solution.

BHO and Co2 methods of concentrate making do not remove most of those other plant compounds that alcohol does......Your now close.
These results have some impurities left though too.

Taking the purged BHO and adding that to an appropriate amount of pure alcohol (Pharma grade is the premium standard) and then "wintering" that solution in a deep freezer for 30 days, has you at the next step.

You now filter that with something as simple as a coffee filter. You remove a high % of the wax and ester compounds that BHO/Co2 remove from the plant matter. This should give you product in the 90 percentile zone. The stronger you get from testing. The better the alcohol and the filtering will allow.

I've seen mid 90's in THC percent by volume.....
Outside of a serious lab. That's what you going to be able to do.

Where did you say it's almost impossible? And none of that answers the question that was being asked.
