Can you help me design a Shroom Room

So I am considering a change of scenery..

Shrooms instead of buds for a bit...

..

So I have a ROOM.. 8'x11'x8'...

And ALL the climate control equipment that goes with a 2400w grow room...

...

So I ask you wizards out there..

How can we set this room up for maximum shroomage...

I have a very VERY basic grasp of the process... but ZERO experience...

...

So I was thinking of rows of shelves like this...

And I know I will need WARM and HUMID..

..

But in reality.. this is all so far over my head...

That I figured I'd run this by you peeps here...

Can someone throw me a bone?

Well, if you do end up doing it. Don't use the grow lights. You really only need a basic lightbulb somewhere in the room that will get some light on them for like 6 hours. Or you could just use natural sunlight and fruit them across the room. You could do an incredible amount in a full room in a few months. Also the start-up costs aren't much at all. The only expensive part is a pressure cooker. Or you could do cakes but in a full room it wouldn't make sense, you could just do so much more with a pressure cooker.

Not fully sure. I'd probably try to somehow separate the room into two climates. one at 80-85 degrees F. for incubation. The other probably around 70 for fruiting. The side at 70 degrees will have to have a possibility of some light. The 80-85 degree section can be pitch black, or you can just wrap the jars in tinfoil. I might try stands kinda like the ones you got for the fruiting side. As long as I could get fruiting chambers (big plastic tub) and a flourescent or enough room for light to get in. You could do that in the incubation side as well. If you can't get the temp difference you could just incubate for the month and then fruit all at once and lower the temp in your room. I'd just like to have both so you could get an endless grow very easily. If you're doing mass quantity you'll probably need a fan to get some new air in to prevent mold. I'm not sure of what else, I would just think about it for a little bit and used what I have, maybe buy a few more things. I just haven't done any mass quantity grows.

buy and read "the mushroom cultivator" . or look at a PDF file online.
if you are dedicating a whole room to mushrooms I highly suggest you use a "Lab setting" to avoid contamination , because you will lose the WHOLE ROOM otherwise.

read up on
- sterilization
- making spore prints
- incubation/fruiting
- making a glove box.
- humidity/temp. requirements
As well as subtracts needed .

I would suggest using "tray cultures" with your shelf set up.

#1 clean the room out .
#2 use reflective white plastic on ceiling + walls (easier to sterilize regularly)
#3 make it air tight .

other then that , its all reading . good luck dude , hit me up if you have any issues =D.

If you use the links I gave you you can grow a lb or 2 a month dry with a 2 64 qt monotub set up. I dont know how much you want to grow but that is allot to me. start up cost with $100 pressure cooker and enough spores to to knock up 12 qt jars and everything else you need is like 350. That includes food dehydrator also.

I like the idea of the tubs on shelves...

I could split the room...:eyesmoke:

Hummmmmm I gotta think on this a bit...

Can you elaborate on this please...

When you say trays, it makes me think of edible mushies grows I have seen with "cakes"(???) on the trays and shrooms growing up and down all around it..

Is this what you are referring to?

Basically he's saying if one tray gets contaminated with bacteria, you better get rid of it fast or else it will spread (by air) to the rest of your trays and you will lose everything.

Cobweb mold can be combatted with a little hydrogen peroxide, but everything else you're basically screwed.

BTW I see your a UC fan. I live about 40 minutes away from Cincinnati. :D

Gotcha... I thought he meant the actual room... silly me...

So the deal with the tubs is that I can keep them individually "sealed" , so if one goes bad, it stops there.. I see.. I see...

This sure ain't like growing weed is it...:clap::lol::razz:
