Can you veg. with HPS lights

Can you veg. with HPS lights. I am thinking of setting my hps for 18/6 for two or three weeks before switching them to 12/12. Is this possible/good/bad?

gonna run 24 plants in my setup

yes u can veg with hps, but mh is better for the veg stage...HPS will work for sure though good luck with ur grow

i have vegged with hps too, with good results , plants prefer the blue light of MH when vegging , but hps give out more lumens per watt, your choice both are good =D

just throw in a few 6500k cfls to fill out the spectrum a bit better , even without , you will still be fine.

It is better to only grow with HPS than to only grow with MH

I 2nd the notion of getting a Hortilux Super HPS, they are definitely in the top 3 HPS bulbs if not the best.
