"In the past, sharing a joint was done without any thought behind it, but now, there are new factors to consider. If a smoker with a compromised or weak immune system is present when a joint, pipe, bong, or vape is going to be passed around, it makes sense to let that person take the first couple of hits.
If possible, they should pass the smoke when it comes to them or have their own joint or pipe that’s not shared. This is to minimize their risk of infection – and, yes, they should pass the dutchie ‘pon the left-hand side(pass the joint to the left)."

I don't think anything is going to change. People are not going to live their lives scared like anything they touch is going to have a killer virus.

The article goes on saying that we'll use condoms for our joints... welcome to the future

It is strange to blaze with friends now. When my buddy comes over for music, I have a little one-hitter for him, and I use my glass pipe. I got together with a few friends in a backyard session, and everyone had their own smoking device. The best we can do to be MJ-social is to all smoke at the same time, from a distance. This is nothing compared to what dating is going to look like, I am glad I'm not a young guy on the prowl these days. It was hard enough to get laid during the best of times...

I've always had my own pipe that I use just myself. And I never let anyone use my bong either. I've seen people drool into them many times. It's just disgusting.

As for that article, the part "In the past, sharing a joint was done without any thought behind it," does not apply to me. I've thought about it for decades going back to the eighties when HIV/AIDS came into the picture. Too many people are just filthy, don't wash their hands, and carry all kinds of nasty stuff in their bodies. So it didn't take Covid for me to not want to share a joint. There's tuberculosis, hepatitis, E. Coli, etc...

So if anyone comes over we can all smoke a bowl but we're all using our own paraphernalia.

Growing up we couldn't leave the house in the morning without blowing our nose, brushing our teeth, and washing our face at a bare minimum. I've known many people that will put on clean clothes but don't bathe for days and don't wash their hands like they should. I've worked at some large companies where you'd see people leaving the bathroom without washing their hands. I don't shake hands, I don't hug except for immediate family, and I don't let people put their hands or lips on my pipe, bong, or joint. And, I never get sick.

What about oral sex ........ hmmmmmm.

I’m just f’ing with you. I used to have a guy working for me for over 20 years and we smoked tons of weed. I joked on day that we swapped more spit then the ol’ lady and I...... but that joke painted a picture that stuck with me and I never felt the same about sharing after that.

Pre covid I had to know someone a while before I'd share a joint with them. You can get oral herpes and hepatitis a from sharing a joint or pipe with an infected person.
So true. Ever been to a reggae concert/festival? Hell any concert really... joints are just floating by, everyone taking a toke as it does. Well when concerts were allowed.
I'm actually going to a drive in show in 2 weeks. Suppose to have 150 sq ft. to myself. We'll see how that works out. I'd be surprised to see any joint passing

I got pretty good at smoking through my finger tips and not touching the joint to my lips or do that thing where you cup your hands and smoke the joint through your fingers like a hitter, whatever you call that...

Yea since legalization outdoor concerts have been insane. There were joints passed around indoors too a the Queen concert. The driven sounds like a fun escape. What movie are you seeing?

I guess that would work, personally I'm not willing to take a risk a life long disease. In the past I've stuck another filter in the other end of a joint and cut it in half to share. I'm only sharing with one person now.
