Cannabutter strength

My recipe has turned into 1 part sugar leaves to 4 parts butter.

The sugar leaf is ONLY resin coated sugar leaves, no fan leaves. While trimming, I actually cut off the half of the leaf blades first and discard. Then the second manicure is only resin coated leaf material. It is really just as potent as buds are.

Usually, 4 oz of trim to 1 lb of butter.

Usually end up with about 2 cups of butter after the water/butter separation.

6 batches of 15 cookies (90 cookies) are made with 2 cups of butter (1/4 lb trim)

Each batch of 15 cookies gets 1/3 cup cannabutter and 1/3 cup regular butter.

Each cookie gets about a teaspoon (1.16 grams sugar leaf).

Each 2 inch cookie gets about 3 good doses. 2 very strong doses. Or 1 fetal position experience.

Using various dyes and/or sprinkles to "brand" the edibles based on the strain they are made from. Always made with Sugar cookie. Same style (color, sprinkle) every time a cookie is made from "a strain", "b strain", etc. Names given to each edible.

What's your cannabutter/edible recipe.

I don't really have too much of a recipe. Just stick as many sugar leaves, resin coated trim, or material that has been ran for BHO in the crockpot that is available but try to shoot for at least an ounce or two, more if available. Usually stick in 3-4 sticks of butter to get at least 2 sticks (1 cup i believe) using the water and butter method. The time it spends in the crockpot varies on how much I have smoked that day but usually ends up being several hours. I have also taken hash and melted that into the butter as well.

Cookies vary from choc chip, sugar cookie to snickerdoodle with snickerdoodle probably being my favorite. If the total butter yield is a little less, then whole mess gets dumped into a brownie batch.

I have also made caramels and starbursts but since I like to eat, I prefer cookies/brownies.

A while back, I used to make bubble hash alot with a 5 bag system. The largest micron screen (other than the work bag) made something that is comparable to keif. I would throw that in with the butter as well.

I enjoy being able to make consistent edibles for people. Like a good strain, the edible you had last year can pop up this year. You can see that it is the same edible by the color/sprinkles used, and you can count on it being the same experience. Doses are always the same. Dose is key. Especially for those who have many responsibilities. Eating a random cookie can wreck you if the potency is way beyond what you thought.

I hear so many stories of people eating too much and getting uncomfortable. I love the edible high. It feels good to offer these to people.

The ones for myself and my roommate are made the way I described and then we dose it to our liking and sometimes you do get a surprise. If made for other people, then the dose is more important. Usually shoot for .5 grams, that way you can always eat more if you want. I can't imagine too many people will complain to eating 2 treats versus one.

I really like your idea of coding the edibles so you know how much is it what, that way you know what to expect. Probably something that I should look into I have definitely had too much of a starburst and then have had to go a lab (i'm in college) for 2 hours, luckily it was just a data collection session for intersection analysis.

To make starburst edibles, just unwrap as many chews as you want for number doses and heat them up. Be sure not to heat up the candy too much because the candy will harden just like any other sugar substance and can burn off the thc as well. Just mix in the concentrate (either hash or BHO). Easiest way is through a double boiler and then putting the melted candy onto parchment paper before dosing them out. Also works well with soft caramels. (Also made those unexpectantly potent as well.... Guess I am a slow learner)

That's rad. I've thought about making chocolates before. I might try the hash candy thing. i will be making some hash with the next trim rather than the usual cookies.
I've never thought of just working them into candies. Great idea.

.5 grams is about the dose i find is best too. usually making a lot of cookies at a time. The double dose just helps keeping it to a reasonable baking session. It still takes hours though.
