Can't set-up my Hydrofarm timer

Hello, I am currently running ebb and flow and it is a bitch to have to come home to flood my system, I have tried to automate my pump using this timer but I can't seem to get it to work. I set the on/off times and to put the timer on auto you have to cycle through from
off to auto to on to auto to off

I tried cycling past on to auto because I thought that would set my timer to come on at the set times but it just stays on, it doesn't shut off.

This doesn't help you I know. But I use the manual ones. They have those plastic slides dealies.
I run 4 of them and they work great.

No this is the user manual and I tried the way I thought it should go but I can't get it automated.

thats what happens when you use a timer rated for resitive wattage on an inductive load like a motor or a ballast... it burns up the timer relay points and stops it from working.
the timer is shot.... replace it with one that can handle an inductive load. you need to size it to be at least 120% larger than the wattage your trying to control it with. if your pump was 100w, the timer would have to be rated for 120w inductive. if it was a 1000w ballast, the timer would have to be rated for 1200w inductive......

ps, that timers not heavy duty, despite what the manufacturer claims.

This is true.

I would like to add that I own several of those timers personally.

You need to set your on off points in order from early am to late pm.
Then cycle it through and check your flow while it reads "on" in the display and the red light is on
If everything is flowing good then cycle it so there is NO red light on and the display reads auto. Should be good to go.

As far as what they can handle goes, I am running a 4" duct fan, a 235 cfm Dayton blower, (2) 150watt HPS lights and a 235 Dayton axial fan off a power strip plugged into the timer on one side of the room. The other, same as yours also only dual outlet, runs a 250 watt Feliz, a 150 watt Feliz, a 8" oscilating wall mount fan, and two 4" Massey hi flow fans. A third timer runs all the pumps, four total, EcoPlus 396 GPH pumps. It also runs the air pumps on the second outlet, there are only two air pumps on it. If you have any questions feel free. make sure you have the proper date/week settings as well/ also are you using the random on/off feature?
