Carbon filter for smoking

Hi, do anyone have experience with using carbon filter in a room you smoke ? Do it helps with smell ? I once set up my used (but not 100%) filter in cardboard box that i blow smoke into. When i returned to the room the smell was still present, but less intense/concentrated than if i smoke this joint in an open air. I attached hepa sheet also for it and it collected smoke and tar well. I started to think that smoke is so dense with not only organic smell compounds that the same air would be better cleaned if i cycle it through filter multiple times - i dont know. So i am thinking should i buy an air purifier or carbon filter as former have hepa etc but less carbon or should i stick to grow filter as it have it more and will be better for smell ?

No matter what you'll have some smell. It'll be less with a filter, and it'll go away faster. But it's not a magic solution that instantly gets rid of all smoke smell.

Could always go out.
I prefer to enjoy my herb sessions in home, just wondering how can i minimise the smell so dont bother neighbours. The real question is would air purifier be better or just carbon filter (already mentioned differences beetwen those two systems filtration)

Get a vaporizer & the neighbors wont smell a thing.

For a while, I wouldn't smoke in my house. Ya know, kids, it stinks, etc. So when I didn't want to go outside because of cold weather or whatever, I could take a bong hit and blow it in one of these. It definitely works. Now my flower room acts as a flow hood so I don't need to use one anymore, but I think it's just what you're looking for. It's just a little carbon filter. They do wear out after a time, but depending on how much you smoke one of these can last months or a year even.

I used to use those all the time as a kid. Nothing gets you higher than trying to exhale your bong rip through one of these. They do work. Image you take a bong rip and exhale it strictly into a ballon. That’s what it feels like, most amateurs can’t do it without coughing smoke everywhere. They don’t last long either.

…man that takes me back. My other solid “teks” I would do as a kid was exhale strictly into a large garbage bag and tie it off when you’re done. Deflate it the next day and it won’t be smoke anymore.

lastly, my favorite childhood smoking workaround was buying 10ft of 3/8 tubing. Hang that tube out my window and exhale my smoke through that tube. Only time it backfired was when I would fall asleep and my parents would see a 10ft tube dangling below my window.

nowadays if I cared about smoke I would just hook up a 4” inline fan to a switch. Have it vent outside or into an attic. Flip the switch when I smoke, flip it when I’m done. Or like just go outside. I’m an adult now, so I smoke anywhere I want…so long as the wife isn’t home.

Go old school. It's easy.

Paper towel or toilet paper tube with a fabric softener/dryer sheet taped to the end. Blow the smoke through it. Problem solved.

I got it and when i used it with smoke buddy it was pretty good while filter lasted. IMO vape smell stays in the room and is noticeable - i checked one time after full 10-15 session and 20 mins after room had pleasant aroma :P. I prefer to smoke and smoke buddies dont last me long with lighting that herb. But i agree these are good methods to minimise odor. Still would love to smoke fat blunt and minimise smell with filter running for one hour or more.

Man those were some genius solutions you had! And you're right you gotta be proficient with those smoke buddies, take the whole bowl hit on the bong, one inhale, one exhale.
